AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR AND ON HERAT OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A RELEASE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT FOR STREET IMPROVEMENTS AGAINST LoT 4, BLOCK 6, REST HAVEN AD- DITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI. AND ITS OWNER R. H. JACKSON, AS EVIDENCED BY SPECIAL ASSESSMENT CERTIFICATE NO. 22, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF FULL PANT THEREOF, AND ALL OF WHICH IS MORE FULLY SET OUT IN TIE RkR2►RR., A COPY OF WHICH IS ATTACHED HERE- TO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN AGENCY. HS IT ORDAINED HY TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City manager of the City of Corpus Christi be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi to execute a release of special assessment for street improvements on Rosebud Avenue against Lot 4, Block 6, REST HAVEN ADDITI:N to the City of Corpus Christi, and the owner of said Property, N. H. Jackson, as evidenced by Certificate Noe 22, for and in conaideration of the full sad final payment thereof, all of which is more fully set out in said release, a copy of which is attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That the necessity of removing the cloud to the title of the property hereinbefore described creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, declaring such emergency and necessity to exist, hav- ing requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordi- nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that it take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED. H. JACESOm, and WHEREAS, Said Special Assesment was evidenced by such Certificate Numbered 222 issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, on the let day of April, 1947, and WHERW# the said Assessment Certificate together with all interest thereon, has been fully paid off and satisfied and at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi was the owner and holder of said certificate and of all liens securing its paymuntj NOW, THEtN?a?ORE, The City of Corpus Christi, Taxes, a munici- pal corporation, for and is consideration, of the payment, of said Special Assent, does hereby RELEASE said property from all liens securing the payment of said assessment and the owner of said property from all personal liability created by the issuance of said certifi- cate and the other proceedings of said City above referred to, and declare said Special Assessment FULLY SATISFIED AND DISCHARGED. Corpus Christi, Texas Q� l .1950 TO THE MMERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore- going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that much ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
