W. WOOD SUBDIVISION, AND A STRIP OF LAND 120 FEET IN DEPTH AIANG THE NORTHEAST LINE OF BALDWIN BOULEVARD LYING IETWEHN THE WEST LINE OF LA GIARTA ADDITION AND THE EAST LINE OF THE J. B. WOOD SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; AND BY CHANGING THE PRESENT ZONING FOR R-13 ONE FAMILY DWELL- ING DISTRICT USE TO B-1, NEIGHBORHOOD BUSINESS DISTRICT USE FOR A TRACT OF LAM DESCRIBED AS A TRACT OF LAND OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF TRACT 1, PAISLEY SUBDIVISION OF THE HOFFMAN TRACT LYING AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE INTER, SECTION OF SOUTH STAPLES STREET AND EVERHART ROAD AND BOUND- ED BY PERPENDICULAR LINES IBM TO THESE TWO STREETS AT POINTS 280 FEET AND 230 FEET FROM THE INTERSECTION RESPECTIVE- LY IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; KEEPING IN EFFECT ALL OTHERPROVISIONS OF TBE'KMTING ORDINANCES AS AMENDED; AND DECLARING AN IMEHGENCY. WHEREAS, The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, has recommended to the City Council of said City that it is advisable to make the hreinafter set out changes in the present Zoning ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Corpus Christi at its regular meeting held on the 6th dap of February, 1951, ordered a Public Hearing to be held on the 27th dap of February, 1951, at 4:0O o'clock P, M. in the City Council Chamber at the City Hall in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, 21e City Council did on such day hold such hearing, where all interested citizens, property`//aw ., and other parties had the opportunity to be heard on the proposed amendments, and that at such hearing all parties interested and wishing to be heard were heard= NOW, THEMORG, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, 7EYAS3 ' SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi passed on the 27th day of August, 1937s appear- ing of record in Volume 9, at pages 565 at seq of the oxdira nce and Resolution Records of the City of Corpus Christi, and as amended from time to time thereafter, and in particular as amended by Ordi. nance No. 2266, passed and approved by the City Council of said City on the 4th day of May, 1948, and appearing of record in Volume 16 pages 339 at seq of said Ordinance and Resolution Records, be amended and the same is hereby amended, in those particulars as hereinafter set forth in Sections 2 and 3 hereof. SECTION 2. That the zoning of that tract of land described as ALL of Block 1; Lot 12, Block 2; Lot 1, Block 4; Lots 1 through 7, inclusive, Block 5, LEART AD- DITION to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Lots 10, 11, 12 and 13, Block 1; Lots 10 and 11, Block 2, LA REINA ADDITION to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and Lots 14, 15 and 16, Block 1, TOM PRICE ADDITION to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and . A strip of land 100 feet in depth along the south- west side of Baldwin Boulevard extending from Blake Street to the east line of the J. B. Wood Subdivision in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and A strip of land 120 feet in depth along the northeast line of Baldwin Boulevard lying between the west line of La Gloria Addition and the east line of the J. B. Wood Subdivision in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be changed from present zoning for R -1, One Family Dwelling District use to B-3, Secondary Business District use, and the same is hereby rezoned. SECTION 3. That the zoning of that tract of land described as A tract of land out of the southwest corner of Tract 1, Paisley Subdivision of the Hoffman Tract lying at the northeast corner of the intersection of South Staples Street and Everhart Road and bounded by perpendicular lines drawn to these two streets at points 280 feet and 230 feet from the intersection respectively, in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be changed from present zoning for Rr1, One Family Dwelling District use to B-1, Neighborhood Business District use, and the same is here- by rezoned. SECTION 4. That the official Zoning Map of the City of Corpus Christi be and the am* is hereby amended as herein ordained. SECTION 5. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby, repealed. SECTION 6. That the said Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus Christi, approved on the 4th day of May, 1948, as amended from time to time, exact as herein changed shall ruin in full force and effect. SECTION 7. That the fact it is of the greatest public importance to put in force immediate]y the changes in the Zoning Ordinance and Map as herainabove provided, for the purpose of pro- viding for the orderly and progressive growth of the City of Corpus Christi, creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces- sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the day it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three sev- eral meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, requesting the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAIM, PASSED AND APP80VED, This the oP March, A.D. ]9$1.
