FERRING TO ORDINANCE NO. 2807 FOR ALL PERTINENT PUR-
POSES; AND DECIAMG AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TB%AS -i
SECTION 1, That there be, and there is hereby, appropriated
from No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Street Improve-
ments) the amount of $2,500 to reimburse No. 102 Current Fund for the
said amount expended therefrom in the purchase of the City Lots used
for the Police Building Site, Said amount being appropriated to cover
the cost of the street easement for the extension of EMMAU BOULEVARD
included in the piece or parcel of land acquired in the said purchase
of land for the Police Building site, and reference is hereby made to
the description contained in the ordinance authorising such purchase to
be made and to such ordinance, same being Ordinance No. 2807.
SECTION 2. That the fact there is now funds available with
which to reimburse, and the necessity of making such appropriation and
reimbursement immediately, No. 102 Current Fund for money expended there-
from for the purchase of Such street easement, creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date
of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read
at three several meetings of the City Cooncil, and the Mayor, having de-
clared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the sus-
pension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and
affect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council,

for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. 2 C41 6
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.
