SUCH CONVEYANCE; AND DECLARING AN EMEHA OY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCII, OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEYASs
SECTION 1. That, having been authorised by Ordinance No. 2942
to acquire the hereinafter described property. the City Manager is here..
by authorised and directed for and on behalf of the City to complete such
acquisition by purchasing from To P. McCord 0.587 of an acre of land to
be used for right-of-way for Baldwin Boulevard, all as more particularly
described in the dead conveying same to the Cityp a copy of which is at-
tached hereto andmade a part hereof, for and in consideration of Eight
Thousand Dollars and the paving of same without cost to grantor.
SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated EIGHT THOUSAND
DOLLARS out of No. 296 improvement Bond 1950 Construction Fund (Stmt
Improvements) to be paid as consideration for such conveyance.
SECTION 3. That the necessity of maldng the aforesaid
appropriation to complete said acquisition in order to facilitate the
completion of drainage and street improvements being constructed in
said area creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity
requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or reso-
lution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that
such ordinance or resolution aballnbe read at three several meetings of
the City Councilp and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and neces-
sity to exist, requesting the suspension of said Charter rule and that
this ordinance be passed finally on the day it is introduced and take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council. '
