AN ORDINANCE
INCREASING THE APPROPRIATION AUTHDRIZED BY ORDI-
NANCE NO. 2962 .TING TEE ADDITIONAL
AMOUNT OF ONE THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY AND 02/100
DOLLARS ($1,1150,02) FROM NO. 296 IMPROVEMENT BONDS
1950 CONSTRUCTION FUND (STREET IMPROVEMUTS) TO
COVER THE EXCESS ABOVE THE ESTIMATE OF COST OF IM-
MOVEMENTS TO HORNE ROAD FROM RAIMY TO KOSTORYZ
ROAD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH FINAL ESTDMTE ATTACHED
HERETO AND NAPE A PART HEREOF; SAID AMOUNT OF $1,1150.02
LS HEREBY APPROPRIATED; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, By Ordinance No. 2962 there was appropriated
$5,277.14 out of No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund
(Street Improvements), to cover the cost of improving Horne Road
from Ramsey to Kostoryz Road; and
WHEREAS, In order to make said improvements it was neces-
sary to remove and reset concrete pipe from driveways and street in-
tersections, thereby increasing the man hours and labor costs; and
WHEREAS, This project has been completed by City Forces,
and it has been determined that the final estimate of same aggregates
a total of $6,727.16; and
WHEREAS, The aforesaid appropriation being insufficient to
cover the cost of said improvements and contingencies, it is now neces-
sary to make an additional appropriation to cover this excess:
1101 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF-CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the a= of
One Thousand Four Hundred Fifty and 02/100 ($1,450.02) from No. 296
Improvements 1950 Construction Fund (Street Improvements) to cover
the excess cost of the improvement of Horne Road from Ramsey to
Kostoryz Road in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
SECTION 2. That said work having been completed it is now
necessary to make such appropriation so that said project may be final-
ly concluded, which immediate necessity creates a public emergency and
an imperative public emergency requiring the suspension of the Charter
rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor,
having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, requesting

the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be
passed finally on the day it is introduced and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED,

Horne Road from Ramsey St. to Kostoryz Road a distance of 3,728 feet
lont and an average width of 22.5 feet. From Ramsey
to Green Grove Drive
1,547' long'and 26' wide. From Green Grove to Kostoryz Road 2,181' long
and 20' wide.
Excavated an average of 12" of dirt, sheepfooted
subgrade before plac-
ing 6" compacted shell base. Base material was pneumatic rolled. For
single asphalt surface treatment used RC -2 Liquid Asphalt at the rate of
0.4 of a gallon to the sq. yd. Kover -Mix at the rate
of one cu. yd. to
100 sq. yds.
Material used:

Gentlemen,
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
,,, going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
