AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACQUIRE A UTILITY EASEMENT FR^M LESLIE
S. LOCIMTT COVERING A STRIP OF LAND 5x125
CUT OF LOT 2 of the LCS AMIGOS ADDITION TO
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, FOR AND
IN C�NSIDER9TIOId OF THE RIGHT OF GRANTOR TO
TAP ANY SANITARY SEWER LINE LAID ACROSS SAID
STRIP OF LAND WITHIN FIVE YEARS FROM THE DATE
HEREOF, SAID EASEMENT TO BE IN THE FORM AS
ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND
DECLARING All EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUI•]CIL OF THE CITY OF COMS CHRISTI,
TEXAAS :
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi to
acquire a utility easement from Leslie S. Lockett covering a strip
of land $x 12$ out of Lot 2 of the Los Amigos Addition to the City
of Corpus Christi, Texas, for and in consideration of the right of
grantor to tap any sanitary sewer line laid across said strip of
land within five years from the date hereof, said easement to be
in the form as attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That the necessity for obtaining the afore-
said easement in order to complete sewer connection in and around
said area to promote the health and general welfare of the general
public creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces-
sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduc-
tion and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declar-
ed such emergency and necessity to exist, requesting the suspension
of the Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force
and effect from and after its passage,IT IS SO ORDAINED.

That I, LESLIE S. LOCKETT, for and in considera-
tion of the sum of 011E DOLLAR (Si) cash in hand to me paid
by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and for the further con-
sideration of the right of Grantor to tap any sanitary sewer
line laid in, on, or across the premises hereby conveyed at
any tine within five (5) years from the data hereof without
payment of the tap fee, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledg-
ed, have GRANTED AND CONVEYED and by these presents do GRANT AND
CWM Unto the City of Corpus Christis Nueces County, Texas, a
municipal w rporation duly incorporated under and by virtue of
the laws of the State of Texas is successors and legal repro-
sentativess the free and uninterrupted use, liberty, privilege
and easement of going in, on, over and under and along a certain
strip of land situated in Nueces County, Texas, and being more
particularly described as follows, to-wit: '
Being a strip of land 5 feet in width and 125
feet in length out of Lot 2 of the Los Amigos
Addition to the City of Corpus Christis Texas,
recorded in Volume lls page 56 of the Nap Records
of Nueces County, Taxes. Said strip of land be-
ing more particularly described by metes and
bounds as follcwas
BEGINNING at a point in the southeast basn-
dory line of said Lot 2 being also the nortbwest
boundary line of 'Amistad Streets said point bears
N 45 deg. 001 E 73.11 feet from the most southerly
corner of said lot 2;
TMCE A 45 deg. 001 W a distance of125 feet
to a point for a corner of this description, said
point bears S 45 deg. 00, W 208x,00 feet from the
most northerly corner of Lot 1 of said Los Aedgoe
Addition;
THENCE S 45 dog. 001 W a distance of 5 feet
to a point for a corner of this description;
THENCE S 45 deg. 00+ B parallel to and 68,11
feet southeast of the northwest boundary line of
said lot 2 a distance of 125 feat to a point in
the northeast boundary line of Amistad Street for
a comer of this description;
THENCE H 45 dog. 000 B with the northwest boun-
dary line of Amistad Street,a distance of 5 fact to

together with the free ingress, egress, and regress to and '
for the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, for the purpose of
constructing, laying, repairing, servicing and maintaining
water, sewer, gas or other utility line or lines in, on, over,
under, andalong said tract or way for the public use and benefit.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD$ all and singular, the rights
and privileges aforesaid to the City of Corpus Christi, Taxis,
its successors and legal representatives, and the public, for
the proffer use as a utility easement or easements for so long
as said strip is used for such purposes or any of them; and,
if the use for said tract or way for all of said uses be ever
abandoned, then, in that event, tho foregoing rights and privi-
leges shall cease, and all right herein granted revert to the
grantor herein, my successors or assigns.

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
