HomeMy WebLinkAbout03020 ORD - 04/12/19515th oY April'iO51 i AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING INTO AND ANNEXING INTO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, THAT CERTAIN TERRI- - 0= BEING A PART OF WHAT IS KNOWN AS OLD BROWNSVILLE ROAD. N07i OUTSIDE OF THE CITY LIMITS ALONG THE NORTH SIDE OF CLIFF MAUS MUNICIPAL AIR- PORT; HEREIIN DESCRIBED BY METES AND BOUNDS; FULLY DESCRIBING SAID TERRITORY AS AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE CITY CF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND DEFINING ITS LIMITS; DECLARING SAME TO BE ANNEXED TO AND MADE A PART OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, WHEREAS, The present City Limits extend only to the south boundary line of the Old Brownsville Road along the north boundary line of the Cliff Maus Airport; and WHEHR&S, Said Old Brownsville Road is an extension of the Airport Road in the City of Corpus Christi, being the mad over which present access is possible to said Cliff Maus Airport, the municipal airport of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, To further the growth and development of the municipal airport, it is desirable and necessary that the said roadway be within the City Limits of the City of Corpus Christi so as to bring the same under the general supervision of the City of Corpus Christi; IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS- . SECTION 1. That the territory hereinafter defined and describ- ed by metes and bounds as follows: BEGINNING at a point, the intersection of the south boundary line of Cliff Maus Municipal Airport and the south boundary line of Old Brownsville Road; THENCE in a westerly direction with the extension of the south boundary line of Cliff Maus Municipal Airport to its intersection with the north boundary line of Old Brownsville Road; THENCE N 54 deg. 25t E 583.02 feet along the north boundary line of Old Brownsville Road to a point of a 1 deg, curve to the left; THENCE in a northeasterly direction with said 1 deg. curve 1133.28 feet to the point of tangent; THENCE N 45 deg. 031 E along the north boundary line of Old Brownsville Road to its intersection with the south boundary line of Block 16, Russell Farm Blocks; THENCE in an easterly direction with the east exten- sion of the south boundary line of Block lb, Russell Farm Blocks to its intersection with the south boundary line of Old Brownsville Road; THENCE S 43 deg. 05' W along the south boundary line of Old Brownsville Road to a point of a 1 deg, curve to the right; THENCE in a southwesterly direction with said 1 deg. curve and the south boundary line of Old Brownsville Road a distance of 1145.2 feet to the point of tangent; THENCE S 54 deg. 25' W 414.88 feet along the south boundary line of Old Brownsville Road to the PLACE OF BEGINNING, ,.�' 302© be and the same is annexed to the City of Carpus Christi, Texas, and is received into said City, and is included within the territorial limits of said City as an integral part thereof, and that said terri- tory shall hereafter be a part of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and shall be subject to the general laws of the State of Texas, the City Charter of said City and the ordinances, resolutions and laws of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to all intents and purposes as the present City of Corpus Christi, and subject to all the same rights, privileges and burdens thereof. SECTION 2. The importance of the growth and development of the municipal airport and of taking the abutting roadway into the City Limits Of the City of Corpus Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed Finally on the day it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, declaring such emergency and necessity to exist, requesting the sus- pension of said Charter role and that this ordinance be passed.Finally on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full force and effect From and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
