CONSTRUCTION FOND TO COVER THE COST OF CON-
STRUCTING SIDE,YALKS ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF
MINNESOTA STREET FROM SANTA ,FE TO ALAMEDA
STREET IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS;
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING TIM CITY LIAITAGER
To EXECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF, OF THE CITY A
CONTRACT 171TH C. L. CASTOR FOR THE INSTALLA-
TION OF SUCH SIDETTALKS AS EVIDENCED BY PUR-
CHASE ORDER NO. ON FILE IN THE CITY
SECRETARY'S OFFICE, TO tY im REFERENCE IS
HERE LADE; AND DECLARING AN bERGENCY.
WHEREAS, By Ordinance No. �qy� the area on the
south side of Minnesota Street extending between Santa Fe to
Alameda Street was created as a Sidewalk District, and
WHEREAS, Said sidewalks were not constructed by pri-

vote property owners after due notice; and
WHEREAS, A lien has been duly and legally filed to
secure the cost of construction of said sidewalks,
I101 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY Tien CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of
No. 208 Sidewalk Construction Fund the seas of $531.46 to cover
the cost of constructing sidewalks along the south side of Ndnae-
acts Street from Santa Fe to Alameda Street in the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, said cost being evidenced by and to be paid in
accordance with the contract described in Section 2 hereof.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to execute a contract with C. L. Castor
for the installation of such sidewalks as evidenced by Purchase
Order No. on file in the City Secretaryes Office,
to which reference is hereby made for all purposes.
SECTION 3• That the necessity for the construction
of said sidewalks immediately by the City in accordance with the
aforesaid transactions creates a public emergency and an impera-
tive public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter

rule providing that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance '
or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such public
emorgoncy and imperative neoeseity exist, and having requested
that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect
and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT
IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons eat forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
