BE IT ORDAINED BI THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to acquire the assignment of certificates
Of special assessment fromJ. M. Dellinger, Inc, against the real
and true owners for improvements of Old Robstown Road and releases
thereof executed by said J. M, Dellinger, Inc*
SECTION 2. Authorizing and directing that there be paid
$2,768.05 from the amount provided for contingencies in the appro-
priation made to cover the cost of such work by Ordinance No. 2931,
duly passed and approved by the City Council on the Myth day of
November, 1950, to be paid from No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950
Construction Fund (Street Improvements) to said J. M. Dellinger,
Inc.# to cover the cost of said certificates, a list of which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof. '
SECTION 3. The aforesaid payment representing the un-
paid balance of that certain contract with J. M* Dellinger, Inc*
authorized by Ordinance No, 29311 on November 14, 1950, and the
inability of said contractor to collect the special assessments
issued against abutting property and the real and true owners three»
of due to the claiming of same as homesteads, the necessity of as-
suming the said liens for collection by the City creates a public
emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the sus-
pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such

ordinance or resolution shall be read at three aeveral meetings

of the City Council, and the Mayors having declared..tbat such
emergency and necessity exists having requested the suspension
of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and affect from and after its passages IT IS ACCORDINGLY
PASSED AND APPROVED, this the_ of Mays 1951-

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council, I. therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
