EWffd]ENCY.
WRRREAC, The City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
did on -the 30th day of April 19460 pass and approve an ordinance granting a
franchise to LeRoy Crow, doing business as Yellow Cab Compary, said ordinance
being Ordinance No. 1893 of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
WHEREAS, the said LeRoy Crow has been granted and now holds
forty (40) taxicab permits du3y issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
under said franchise and in connection therewith; and
WHEREAS, CorpusChristi Transportation Co., has purchased the
said franchise of LeRoy Crow, doing business as Yellow Cab Company, inclu-
ding the forty (40) permits granted in connection therewith and thereunder '
by the City of Corpus Christi, such sale being subject to the approval of
the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDADW BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS.
SECTION 1. That the taxicab franchise and all amendments there-
to and all rights and privileges thereunder and incident thereto which was
issued to said LeRoy Crow, doing business as Yellow Cab Company, on April 30,
1946, is hereby transferred to Corpus Christi Transportation Co., a corpora-
tion, and said transfer is hereby approved.
SECTION 2. That the said Corpus Christi Transportation Co., a
corporation, shall be bound by all the terms, covenants and obligations of
said original franchise and all amendments thereto issued to LeRoy Crow, doing
business asYellow Cab Company. This approval shall not be construed as in any
way ratifying any of said permits which may be for ary reason subject to revo-
cation.
SECTION 3. The fact that the Corpus Christi Transportation Co.,
cannot legally operate cabs under the aforesaid franchise and permits without
approval of the City Council creates a public emergency and public imperative
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution sball be passed finally on the dap it is introduced and that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and imperative

necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and
that this Ordinance be passed finally on the day of its introduction and take
effect, and be in full force and effect, from and after its passage, IT IS
ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED,

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the
foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist
for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance
or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of
the City Councilg I. therefore, hereby request that you suspend said
Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date
it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

This is to state that the undersigned LeRoy Crow, doing business as
Yellow Cab Company, has heretofore transfered and sold to Corpus
Christi Transportation Co., a corporation, all his right, title and
interest in and to the franchise and forty (40) permits thereunder
now held by said LeRoy Crow, from.the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
permitting said LeRoy Crow to operate taxicabs and a taxicab business
in the City.
This sale and transfer also included the Government securities now on
deposit with the City Secretary of the City,of Corpus Christi,1lhxas,
covering taxicab operations of said Yellow Cab Company.
I hereby ask approval of this transfer.
