HomeMy WebLinkAbout03028 ORD - 05/08/1951AN OHUINANCE APPROPRIATING THIRTY -rin Bun= DOLLARS FROM No. 296 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 3.950 CONSTRUCTION FUND (STREET IMPROPEIENTS) TO COVER THE COST OF STREET ' IMPROVEMENTS AS DESCRIBED HEREIN OF BRCWNLEE BOULE- VARD EXTENSION BETWEEN BUFFALO AND YaMBAGO STREETS AS A TRAFFIC ARTERY AND FOR THE PURPOSE OF SERVING TEE NEW POLICE BUILDING; AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORS.S TO PROCEED WITH SUCH WORK SO AS TO ACCOMPLISH THE COMPLETION OF SAID PROJECT WITH CITY FORCES; AND DSCLARING AN EMEROENCY. WRREAS, There is need approximately Thirty -five Hundred Dollars to pay for the cost of improvement of Brownlee Boulevard Ex- tension between Buffalo and Winnebago Streets in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds available for such installation cost in Nos 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Street Improvements) to cover the cost of such improvements; and WHEREAS, It is contemplated that said work will be done by City Forcess NOW, THEREFOR, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF , THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of Thirty -five Hundred Dollars ($3500) from No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Street Improvements) to cover the cost of street improvements of Brownlee Boulevard Extension Between Buffalo . and Winnebago Streets in the City of Corpus Christi for the purpose of serving the new Police Building and as a Traffic artery of the traffic pattern of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, in accordance with the plans andspecifications attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That the Director of Public Works of the City of Corpus Christi is hereby directed to proceed with the work describ- ed in Section 1 hereto so as to accomplish the completion of said project with City Forces. SECTION 3. That, it appearing necessary to commence such work immediately in order to improve existing conditions and it being necessary to make such appropriation prior to the commencement of such work creates a public emergency and an imperativepublic necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or, resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Councils and the Mayor, declaring such emergency and necessity to exists having requested the suspension of said and Charter rule /that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take affect and be in full force and affect from and after the date of its passages IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
