CASTOR FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SHERRILL PARK IMPROVEMENTS, IN AC- CORDANCE WITH THE TERMS AND PROVI- SIONS OF THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY SECRE- TARY, MADE A PART HERECF BY REFERENCE; APPROPRIATING $11,016.75 FROM NO. 296 IMPR]VEMEM' BONDS 1950 CONSTRUCTION FUND (PATH{ IMPROVEMENTS) TO COVER SUCH CON- STRUCTION OF PARK IMPROVEMENTS AS A PART OF TIE PERMANENT PARK IMPROVEMENTS OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, $12,742.50 BEING TEAT CONTRACT PRICE THEREFOR AND $1,274.25, EQUIVATMVr TO TEN PERCENT OF THE C04TRACT PRICE, TO COVER ENGINEERING AND CONTINGENCIES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT ORMINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi be and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute a contract with C. L. Castor for the construction of Sherril Park Improvements, in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, made a part hereof by reference, and which contract has been awarded in accordance with such contract documents, and according to the bid of said C. L. Castor opened on the 29th day of May, 19$1, the said bid of C. L. Castor being the lowest and most advantageous bid to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. . SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Bark Impror ements) the sum of M,016.75, out of which amount $12,742.50 is to be paid as the contract price accordingirs to said contract described in Section 1 hereof, and the balance of $1,274.25, the equivalent of ten percent 'Of the contract price, to be paid to cover the cost of engineering and contingencies in connection with said project. SECTION 3. That the necessity Of maldng the aforesaid appro- priation and contract immediately, such project being of the greatest Public importance and to the benefit of the health safety tY and general welfare of the general public as a part of the permanent park improve_ r 1 manta of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, creates a public emergency\ � ©ia 1 and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution aball be read at three several meetings of the City Councilp and the Mayors having declared such emergency and necessity :to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter role and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and ef� feet from and after its passage, IT IS 50 PASSED AND APPROVED, this the—.,j_dar of June, A.D. 1951.
