APPROPRIATING MONEY FROM NO. 296
DeROVENENT BONDS 1950 CONSTRUCTION
FUNDS (STREET TRAFFIC CONTROL), $2,000
FOR THE COST OF MATERIALS AND LABOR
FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL INSTALLATION AT THE
INTERSECTION OF MORGAH & MOHAWK AVENUES
AND BALDWIN BOULEVARD, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH ESTIMATE WHICH IS ATTACHED HERETO;
AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORES
TO PROCEED WITH SUCH WORE WITH CITY
FORCES, AND DECLARINU AN EMERGENCY.
WHERF.ASI, There is needed approximately $2,000.00 to
pay for cost of materials and labor for traffic control installation
at the intersection of Morgan & Mohawk Avenues and Baldwin Boulevard
and
WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds available for such
installation cost in No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Funds
(Street Traffic Control);
WHEREU, It is contemplated that said work will be
done by City Forces;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION I. There is hereby appropriated the sum of
$2,000.00 from Fund No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Funds
(Street Traffic Control), as the estimated cost of said installation
of said traffic control at the intersection of Morgan & Mohawk Avenues
and Baldwin Boulevards such estimate being attached hereto and made a part
hereof.
SECTION II. The Director of Public Works of the City
of Carpus Christi is hereby directed to proceed with the work described
in Section I hereto so as to accomplish the completion of said project
with City Forces.
SECTION III. It appearing that it is necessary to
commence such work at once in order to improve the existing condition
• and being necessary to make the appropriation provided herein prior to
the commencement of such work creates a public emergency and imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule or require-
- ment that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed finally on the date
of its introduction and that said Ordinance or Resolution shall
be read at three several meetings of the City Council. and the
Mayor, having declared that such emergency and public imperative
necessity exist, and requested that said Charter rule be suspended
and that this Ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro-
duction, and talc: effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

I hereby submit my plans for traffic control installation on at the
intersection of Dorgan & l.ohazwk Avenues and Baldwin Boulevard.
Prbperty damage accidents and personal injury accidents more than
justify the installation of controls at this intersection.
The following is the required r.iaterial for this installation:
1 'GS -LTD - Controller triple dial, 24 circuit with flashing
contact, radio suppressor, flashing amber - flashing
red for fire run using TL•171 relays, circuit breaker,
2 time switches for c'ial transfer, all in size 28
cabinet with YYP86 hubs.
1 TSW 111+ DT Signal sections one away
4 - TSW 113 DT
1 - TKI 113 DT
3 - 35 Poles Drilling Fc setting
1000' - 8 conductor =; 12 aerial cable
1000' - 1" guy strand
Estimated cost for labor and material for this intersection is

for the contract, agreement, obligation] or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the, credit of No. 296 IMPROVFTLP iT PONDS 1950

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
