AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING FROM N0. 296 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1950
CONSTRUCTION FUND (STREET IM1RO7I3DENTS) THE SUM
OF $8,320 TO REIMBURSE No. 102 CURRENT FUND AND
TO BE DEPOSITED TO THE CREDIT OF TIM POLICE DIVI-
SION CODE DI TO COVER EXPENDITURES FOR THE INSTALLA-
TION OF STREET MARKER POSTS ALREADY MADE AND SUCH
OTHER EXPENDITURES TO BE MADE NECESSARY TO THE IN-
STALLATION OF PERMANENT TYPE STREET MARKERS UP TO '
SUCH AMOUNT, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATION
FROM THE CITY CONTROLLER ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE
A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, '
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 296
Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Street Improvements) the
sum of $8,320 to reimburse No. 102 Current Fund and to be deposited
to the credit of the Police Division Code DI to cover expenditures
for the installation of Street Marker posts already made and such
other expenditures to be made necessary to this installation of p
permanent type street markers up to such amount, in accordance
Trith the recommendation from the City Controller attached hereto
and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That the necessity of making the aforesaid
appropriation and reimbursement immediately creates a public am-
eigency and an imperative public necessity regiiring the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordi-
nance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the
City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and neces-
sity to exist, requesting such Charter rule to be suspended and
that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduc-
tion and take affect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED, AND PASSED AND APPROVED

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore,. hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

The Building maintenance Division through the Police --
Departmatt has to date expended out of operating funds '10
approximately $4,72D.00 for the installation of new p4l"d".
street marker posts. In addition, Kr. Ash estimatae vl
that $3,600.00 will be required for the completion of
this installation of permanent type street markers.
It is recommended therefore that an ordinance be passed
appropriating a total of ¢8,320.00 trow No 296 Improve-
meat Bonde, 1950 Construction,
Fund. Thia amount will be paid to go. 102 Current Fund
and deposited to the credit of the Police Division Code DI
to cover eVatditures already made and -such other expendi-
tures that are necessary up to this amount.
