AN ORDINANCE
•
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR AND
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE
A RELEASE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT AGAINST THE NORTH
ONE HALF OF LOT SIX BLOCK FOUR STEELE & LAUGHLIN AD-
DITION TO THE CITY AND THE REAL AND TRUE OWNER THERE-
OF, E. E. FOX AND WIFE, MAUL E. FOX FOR AND IN 0(8-
8182332108 OF THE PAYMENT O SAID SPECIAL ASSESSMENT,
A COPY OF WHICH RELEASE IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE
APART HEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OFF-CORFUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager for and on behalf of the
City be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to execute a re-
lease of special assessment against the North 1/2 of Lot 6 Block 4,
Steele & Laughlin Addition to the City of Corpus Christi, and the
Real and true owner thereof, E. E. Fox and wife, Maude E. Fox, for
and in consideration of the payment of said special assessment, a
copy of which release is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That the necessity for clearing the title to
the aforesaid land creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of
its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be
read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor,
declaring such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested
the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be
passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage,
IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO PASSED AND APPROVED,� This . day of June, 1951.

day of December, ]941, there ems ordered the improvement of a
certain portion of Thirteenth Street Lathe City of Corpus Christi,
and
MENUS, Dy virtue of an ordinance of the City Council of
the City of Corpus Christi duly enacted on the 6th day of April, 1942,
there was levied an assessment in the sum of Three Hundred Seventy -ens
end 20/100 Dollars against property situated in said City, fr rating
69.69 feat on the Fast side at Tbir+ecnth Street, more particularly
described as the North 1/2 of Lot 6, Block 4, STEE E & LAWHLIA AD-
nItSu 7Othe City of Corpus Christi, and the real and true owner
thereof, sawed as follower E. E. FOE AND WIFE, MAUDE E. FOX; and
NFEMAN, Said special assessment ems evidenced tor such Aaaaea-
meat Certificate No. 11, issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
on the 26th dsy of June, 7942, and
SEF9RA% Said Special Assessment Certificate, together with
interest in tho amount of $49.80, has been fully paid off and satis-
fied and. at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi ass
the carer and holder of said certificate and of all liens securing
its paymcmte

For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension or the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rale or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
