HomeMy WebLinkAbout03075 ORD - 06/26/1951AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM N0. 295 !MPROVEMENT BONDS 1948 CONSTRICTION FUND (STORK SEWER IMPROVEMENTS) $8,121.50 TO COVER THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING A STORM SEWER IN NORTON STREET IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS TO PROCEED WITH SUCH WORK WITH CITY FORCES; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, It is to the benefit of the health, safetyp and general welfare to construct a storm sewer in Norton Street in the City of Corpus Christi, Taxes; and WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds available and unappropriat- ed in No. 295 Improvement Bonds 3.948 Construction Fund (Storm Sewer Im- provements) to pay the cost of such construction; and WHEREAS, Such work is to be done with City Forces; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 295 Im- provement Bonds 1948 Construction Fund (Stone Sewer Improvements) $8.121.$0, to cover the cost of constructing a stone sewer in Norton Street in accord- ance with estimate attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That the Director of Public Pforks is hereby directed to proceed with City Forces (Street Division) to accomplish the completion of the project described in Section 1 hereof. SECTION 3. The immediate necessity of protecting the health, safety, and general welfare of the general public by the placing of a storm sewer in Norton Street creates an emergency and an imperative public neces- sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or reso- lution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction end that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayors declaring such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordi- nance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect —I- and be in full force and effect from and after its Passages IT IS AC- CORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This tre �2 (o day of June, A.D. 1951.
