HomeMy WebLinkAbout03077 ORD - 07/03/1951AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM NO. 270, CITY HALL IMPROVEMM ' FUNDS, THE SUM OF $26,732.30 FOR THE ACQUISITION OF FURNITURE, FIXTURES AND SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FOR USE IN THE CITY HALL 11ELQDING COUNCIL ROOM AND CCRPORATION COURT AND POLICE DEPARTMENT; ACID DE- CLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, much of the furniture, fixtures and special equip- ment now located in the City Hall for the use of the Departmentsand Per- sonnel now located therein is inadequate, outmoded, and in a deteriorated condition; and WHEREAS, there are funds on hand in No. 270, City Hall Improvement Funds, in the amount of $26,712.30 which should be applied on the cost of the acquisition of said furniture, fixtures and special equipment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 270, City Hall Improvement Funds, $26,712.30 to use in the acquisition of furni- ture, fixtures and special equipment for the use of the Departments and Personnel now located in the City Hall, said furniture, fixtures and spe- cial equipment to be acquired by the City Purchasing Agent with the appro- val of the City Manager, no parcel of which shall be acquired without bide where the amount of same equals or exceeds the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00). SECTION 2. The mediate necessity of obtaining furniture, fixtures, and special equipment hereinabove described creates an emergency and an Imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mlayor, declaring such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDIKOLY PASSEO.AND APPROVED, This the day of July, A.
