APPROPRIATING FROM NO. 295 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1948 Construetion
FOND (SANITARY SEWER IMPROVEMENTS) $2,389.70 AND APPROPRIATING
FRAM N0. 265 SANITARY AND STORM WATER SEWER IMPROVEMENTS AND
EXTENSION FOND $479.05, A TOTAL OF $2,868.75 FOR THE COST OF
CONSTRUCTING A SANITARY SEWER IN BROOKDAT STREET BETWEEN
GOLIGIHAR ROAD AND SONNYBROOK STREET IN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS; AND AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE DIRECTOR OE.,
PUBLIC WORKS TO PROCEED WITH SUCH WORK WITH CITY FORCES; AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

WHEREAS, There is needed approxiaately $2,868.75 for the purpose
of placing sanitary sewer in Brookdale Street to serve the residents of

Brooklawn SObdiviaion in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
Whereas, there are sufficient funds available and unappropriated
in Bond Funds No. 295 and No. 265 in amounts aggregating the total need-
ed; and
Whereas, It is contemplated that such work will be done with City
Forces;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR ME CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 295 _
Improvement Bonds 1948 Construction Fund (Sanitary Sewer Improvements)
the am of $2,389.70 and appropriating from No. 265 Sanitary and Storm
Water Sewer Improvements and Extension Fund the sum of $479.05, a total
of $2,868.75 to cover the estimated cost of materials and labor in the
construction of a sanitary sewer in Brookdale Street between Gollihar
Road and Sunnybrook Street in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, to be
installed by City Forces (Sanitary Sewer Division of Public Works), in
accordance with estimate made by Director of Public Works a copy of
which is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That the Director of Public Works is directed to
proceed with the project described in Section 1 hereof with City Forces.
SECTION 3. That it appearing to be necessary to commence said
installation at once in order to improve existing conditions to the bene-
fit of public health, safety and general welfare and to make such appro-
priation prior to time of commencing such work creates a public emergency
and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution sha11 be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the
Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to eaiat, having
requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance
be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and
be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage,

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; 1, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
