CRDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND
DECLARING All EIOMFNGY.
WHEREAS, The Zoning and Planning Commission of the City of Corpus
Christi, Texas, has recommended to the City Council of said City that it is
advisable to make the hereinafter set out changes in the present Zoning
Ordinance and Map of the City; and
WHEREAS, The City Council at its regular meeting held on the 15th
day of May, 1951, ordered a public hearing to be held on the 14th day of
June, 1951, at 2:00 o'clock P. M. in the Council Chamber of the City Hall of
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and -
WHEREAS, The City Council did on the 14th day of June, 1951, hold
such bearing, where all interested citizens, property owners and other parties
had the opportunity to be heard on the proposed amendments, and that at such
hearing all parties interested and wishing to be heard were heard:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY TILL CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:

SECTION 1. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi passed on the 27th day of August, 1937, appearing of record in Volume
9, pages 565 at seq of the Ordinance - Resolution Records of the City, and as
amended from time to time thereafter, and in particular as amended by Ordi-
nance No. 2266, passed and approved by the City Council on the 4th day of
May, 1945, and appearing of record in Volume 16, pages 339 at seq of said
Ordinance- Resolution Records, be, and the same is hereby, amended in Sec-
tions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 of this Ordinance.
SECTION 2. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
A portion of the North 6.2 acres out of Lot 8, Section D,
Paisley's Subdivision, bounded on the north by the north
line of Lot 8, Section D, Paisley's Subdivision, or the
eastward extension of the centerline of Rosalie Boulevard;
an the east by the existing light industrial district
which lies 300' to the west of and parallel to Port Avenue;
an the south by a line parallel to the center line of
Rosalie Boulevard extended and 200' to the south there-
from and on the west by a line parallel to the west line
of Lot 8, Section D, Paisleyta Subdivision and 5001 to
the east therefrom, in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be changed from present zoning for R -1, One Family Dwelling District use to
L-I, Light Industrial District use, and the same is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 3. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
A32 that triangular tract of land bounded by the eastward
extension of the centerline of Rosalie Boulevard, the east
line of Midway Addition, and aline 3001 from the east
property line of Port Avenue and being the east line of the
present light industrial strip along Port Avenue in the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be changed from present zoning for R -1, One Family Dwelling District use,
to L-I, Light Industrial District use, and the same is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 4. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
follows:
Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, Block 5, MOSSETT ADDITION to
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas,
be changed from present zoning for A -2, Second Apartment Rouse District use
to L-I, Light Industrial District use, and the same is hereby rezoned.

SECTION 5. That the zoning of that tract of land described.as
East 1/2 of Blocks 9 through 13, WATIER BEACH ADDITION to the
City of Corpus Christi, being that property facing on Shore-
line Boulevard between Palo Alto and Power Streets,
be changed from present zoning for A -2, Second Apartment House District use
to B-2, Bayfront Business District uee, and the same is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 6. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
Lots 1 and 2, Block 13, SMMEST ADDITION to the City of
Corpus Christi, being generally that property located at
the northwest corner of Sarita and Heinley Streets,
be changed from present zoning for A -1, First Apartment House District use
to B-3, Secondary Business District use, and the same is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 7. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
Lots 27 through 32, both inclusive, BAMMOR ADDITION to the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas
be changed from present zoning for A -1, First Apartment House District use
to B-3, Secondary Business District use, and the same is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 8. That the zoning of that tract of land described as
Lots 13 through 23, both inclusive, Block 35, DEL MAR ADDITION
to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, being all of the north
half of said block facing on Clifford Street between Alameda
and South Staples Street,
be changed from present zoning for A -2, Second Apartment House District
use to B-3, Secondary Business District use, and the same is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 9. That the official Zoning Map of the City of Corpus
Christi be, and the same is hereby, amended as herein ordained.
SECTION 10. That all ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are repealed.
SECTION 11. That the Zoning Ordinance and Map of the City of Corpus
Christi, approved on the 4th day of May, 1948, as amended from time to time,
except as herein changed shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 12. That the public importance of putting in force imme-
diately the changes in the Zoning Ordinance and Map as herein provided and
providing for the orderly and progressive growth of the City create

an emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the auspenbion
of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed final-
ly on the date of, its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council. and the Mayor,
having declared such emergency and necessity to existq having requested
the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and effect from slid after its passages IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergenay and imperative necessity exist far
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at.three meetings of the
City Council, I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
