HomeMy WebLinkAbout03108 ORD - 08/07/1951AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND THRECTING TEE CITY MANAGER FOR , AND IN BEHALF OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A QUITCLAIM DEED UNTO ME TEXAS-MEYTCAN HIALBOiD COMPAHY, A CORPORATION, TO THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TRACT OF LAND OUT OF WATER BLOCK 2, BEACH PORTION OF THE CENTRAL WHARF AND WAREHOUSE AIDZTION TO THE CITY ` FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF A QUITCLAIM DEED FROM ` TEXAS-MEXICAN RAILROAD COMPANY UNTO THE CITY TO CERMIff OTHER HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TRACTS OF LAND OUT OF SAID WATER BLOCS 2 FOR THE PURPOSE OF QUIET- ING ANY QUESTION REGARDING TITLE TO SAID PROPERTY AND IN SETTLEMENT OF THE CONTROVERSY REGARDING THE OWNERSHIP AND USE OF LAST MENTIONED TRACTS OF LAND BY THE CITY, COPIES OF WHICH QUITCLAIM DEEIB ARE ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLAR- ING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, In order to settle the eiisting controversy between the City and the Texas - Mexican Railroad Company regarding the title to certain portions of Water Block 2, Beach Portion of the Central Wharf and Warehouse Addition to the City, and to quiet any question regarding said titles NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF COMB CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1, That the City Manager be, and he is hereby author- ized and directed for and on behalf of the City to execute a quitclaim deed unto the Texas- '3exican Railroad Company to a certain portion of Water Block 2, Beach portion d the Central Wharf and Warehouse Addition to the City in exchange for a quitclaim deed from said Texas - Maxican Railroad' Company to certain other portions of Water Block 2, Beach Portion of the Central Wharf and Warehouse Addition to the City, to it, said quitclaim deed from the City to be delivered upon receipt of said quitclaim from Tax"-4(exican Railroad Company, copies of such quitclaim deeds being made a part hereof and attadied hereto, read- ing as follows- /''� ©-g C�ePCe�� Quitclaim Deed TEE STATE OF T°EW 0 K= ALL MEN Br TMSE PRESENTS: COUNTZ OF RMES 0 THAT The City of Corpus Christi, Tema, a municipal corpora- tion doily incorporated under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Texas, of Nueces County, Texaa, acting by and tough W* B.
