BE IT ORDAMIED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ' OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: - WHEREAS, there is needed approximately 015,929.66 for cost of installation of all piping, fittings, and valves, and other material, and for the installation thereof, necessary to install a water main in Alameda Street from Doddridge to Rossiter; and WHERM, the approval of said project has been secured from Greeley and Hansen, Consulting Engineers representing the holders of the Water Bonds; and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds available for such installation cost in Fund I4o. 298 City of Corpus Christi Waterworks Construction Fund; and WHEREAS, it is contemplated that said work will be done by City Forces: NOd, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIItED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the awn of $15,929.66 from Fund No. 298 City of Corpus Christi Waterworks Construction Fund,-out of which amount there is to be paid the cost of pipe, fittings, valves and other materials for Project ITo. 264, Water lain in Alameda Street from Doddridge to Rossiter and the installation thereof, in accordance with the attached estimates of cost of said project and relative sketches, said estimates and sketches being made a part hereof. SECTION II. The Director of Public Works of the City of Corpus Christi is hereby directed to proceed with the work described herein, such work to be performed by City Forces. ' SECTION III. The fact that it is necessary to make such ' appropriation as above set out in order that the said project may be commenced so as to relieve the low pressures existing in some areas, - and to provide adequate water service for other areas, and to order such work done, create a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or reso- lutioa shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the 1:iyor, having declared that such emergency and necessity exist, requesting that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the day it is intro- duced and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after Its passage, IT IS ACCOR M1GLY SO ORDAINED.. Director of Finance /`� Corpus Christi, Texas TO THE MOMS OF THE CITY COUNCIL l Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemens For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore- going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
