HomeMy WebLinkAbout03120 ORD - 08/28/1951• AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF ':FIE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE A DEED CONVEYING TO THE HOUSING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI A PARCEL OF LAND, BEING 0.122 ACRES OUT OF THE SALT FLAT AREA INCLUDING AN AREA SC&STIMES C014SIDMD AS PEING A PORTION OF LOTS 9 AND 10, BLOCK 19 AND A PORTION OF LOT 6 IN BLOCK 20, CRAVEN HEIGHTS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, NUECES COUNTY, TEXAS, IN EXCHANGE FOR TEE CONVEYANCE BY THE HOUSING AUTHORITY TO THE CITY OF A'D.122 ACRE TRACT OUT OF LOTS 12 AND 13 IN BLOCK 20 CRAVEN HEIGHTS ADDITION, 71HICH - EXCHANGE WILL CAUSE THE 'NEST BOUNDARY LINE OF T. C.AYERS PARK TO BE LESS IRREGULAR, TO THE MUTUAL ADVANTAGE OF THE CITY AND THE ;HOUSING AUTHORITY, A COPY OF SUCH EXCRANCE DEEDS BEING ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEFECF; AND DECLAR NG AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, The City of Corpus Christi and the Housing Authority - of the City of Corpus Christi being the owners of certain adjoining land in Craven Heights Addition, it is to the mutual benefit of both the City of Corpus Christi and the Housing Authority that the west line of T. C. Ayers Park be straightened out by an exchange of a por- tion of such properties as hereinafter described= NON, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXASs SECTION 1. That the City Manager of the City of Corpus Christi be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed for and on behalf of the City to execute a deed conveying to the Housing Authority a parcel of of land, being 0.122 acres out of the Salt Flat area including an area sometimes` considered as being a portion of lots 9 and 10, Block 192 and a portion of lot 6 in Block 20, Craven Heights Addition to the City, in exchange for the conveyance of a 0.122 acre tract out of Lots 12 and 13, Block 20, Craven Heights Addition, from the Housing Authority to the City, a copy of which deeds are attached hereto and made a part hereof. Ayers Park to be less irregular, creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces- sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meeting. of the City Council, the Mayor, declaring such emergency and necessity to exists hav- ing requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after itts_� p passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED.
