AN ORDINADE
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR
AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY TO ACQUIRE 0.482 OF AN
ACRE OF LAND FOR THE EXTENSION OF ANTELOPE STREET
FROM EVIL BIEL FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF TNENTY
FOUR HUNDRED TEN ($2410) DOLLARS; AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING TIE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECES-
SARY AND REQUISITE TO SUCH ACQUISITIORj APPROPRIAT-
ING $2410 FROM NO. 296 IMPROVEMENTS BONDS 1950 WN-
STRUCTION FUND (STREET IMPROVEMENTS) M HE PAID AS
CONSIDERATICN FOR SUCH CONVEYANCE; AND DECLARING AN
EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
and d rected for and on behalf of the City to acquire 0.482 acres of
land for the extension of antelope street from Emil Biel for and in
consideration of Twenty Four Hundred Ten Dollars by warranty deed in
the form attached hereto and made a part hereof, said land being more
particularly described as follows;
A tract of land 350 feet in length and 60 feet in width
out of a 10.45 acre tract of land conveyed to Emil Biel by
deed of record in Volume 251, page 358, of the Deed Records
of Nueces County, Texas, more particularly described by
metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING At a point, the intersecting of the weaterly `
extension of the south boundary line of Antelope Street
and the east boundary line of said 10.45 acre tract for the
southeast corner of this tract;
THENCE N 89 deg. 50, 4(y- W with the westerly extension
of the south boundary li.ne•of Antelope Street a distance
of 350 feet to a point in the west boundary-line of said
10.45 acre tract for the southwest corner of this tract;
THENCE N 0 deg. 091 20u E with the west boundary line
of said 10.45 acre tract, a distance of 60 feet to a point
in the westerly extension of the north boundary line of
Antelope Street for the northwest comer of this tract;
THENCE S 89 deg. 50u 40,- E with the westerly extension
of the north boundary line,of Antelope Street, a distance
of 350 feet to a point in east boundary line of said 10.45
acre tract for the northeast corner of this tract;
THENCE S 0 deg. 03t 20s W with the east boundary line
of said 10.45 acre tract,.a distance of 60 feet to the
PLACE OF BEGINNING,
and containing 0.482 of an acre of land.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized
and directed to do all things requisite and necessary in connection
with said acquisition described in Section 1 hereof.

SECTION 3. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 296
Improvement Bonds 19$0 Construction Fund (Street Improrements) the
sum of Twenty Four Hundred Tan Dollars ($2410) to be paid Emil Biel
as consideration for the warranty deed conveying the land described
herein to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION h. That the public importance of obtainine the above
described right-of -way for the extension of Antelope Street to pro-
vide right-of-way for the paving of said streets which project was
requested by petition to the City Council, such improvements being
in the interest of public health3 safety and general welfares creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule providing that no ordinance or reso-
lution sball be passed finally on the date of its introduction and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several
meetings of the City Councils and the Mayors having declared such
emergency and necessity to exists having requested the suspension
of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be Passed inal3y on
the date of its introduction and take affect and be in full force
and affect from and after its passage$ IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the fore-
going ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for
the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and
that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the
City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.

I certify to the City Council that the money required
for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of No.296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Coon -
struction Fund (Street Improvements) in the amount of 82410
SM from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.
