AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACQUIRE 1.022 ACRES CF LAND IN THREE TRACTS,
BEING A STRIP OF LAND 60 FEET IN WIDTH ACROSS
THE H. G. HEANEY TRACT FOR THE WESTWARD EXTEN-
SION CF ANTELOPE STREET IN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, TEXAS, FROM H. G. HEANEY- AND WIFE,
WINIFRED HEANEY, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION OF
FIVE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED,TWENTY -NINE ($5,629)
DOLLARS; AUTHORIZING AND_DIBECTING.THE,CITY _
MANAGER TO DO AU THINGS NECESSARY AND REQUIS-
ITE TO AND IN CONNECTION WITH SAID ACQUISITION;
APPROPRIATING FROM NO. 297 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1951
CONSTRUCTION FUND (STREET IMPROVEMENTS) SAID FIVE
THOUSAND SIX'HUNDRED TWENTY -NINE DOLLARS TO BE
PAID FO$ SUCH. CONVEYANCE; AND DECLARING AN EM-
ERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager, for and on behalf of
the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, be and he is hereby author-
ized and directed to acquire 1.022 acres of land in three tracts
being a strip of land 60 feet in width across the H. G• Heaney
Tract for the westward extension of Antelope Street in the City
Of Corpus Christi, Texas, as described by metes and bounds in
the warranty deed to convey said land, a copy of which is at-
tacked hereto and made a part hereof, from H. G. Heaney and
wife, Winifred Heaney, for and in consideration of Five Thousand
Six Hundred Twenty -Nine 05,629) Dollars.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to do all things necessary and requisite
in connection with the acquisition described in Section 1 hereof.
SECTION 3. That there is hereby appropriated from No. 297
Improvement Bonds 1951 Construction Fund (Street Improvements)
Five Thousand Six Hundred Twenty -Nine ($5,629) Dollars to be paid
as consideration for said conveyance described in Section 1 hereof.
SECTION 4* That the necessity for the prompt acquisition
of said land for the extension of Antelope Street, such improve+

ments of streets being made to protect the health, safety
and general welfare of the Public and being needed immediate -
ly., creates a public emergency and an imperative public neces-
sity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule and regula-
tion that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council$ and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and
necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said
'Charter role and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full
force and effect from after the date of its passage, IT IS

City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter
rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is
introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council,

I certify to the City Council that the money required
for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. 297 Improvement Bonds 1951
Consturction Fund 1951(Street Improvements)
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.

Authority is requested to purchase 1.022 acres of land for the extension of
Antelope Street from Harry G. Heaney and ld.fe, Winifred Heaney at a cost of
$5,629.00 to be paid for from Street Improvement Bond Funds.
