WB:iFP , certain itdprovements have been determined to be desirable as a part of the Storm Sewer Improvement Plan, and it is necessary to make appropriation out of the proper fund for the payment thereof and to proceed with the installation of said improvements; and WHEREAS, there are sufficient funds unappropriated in Bond Funds No. 295 Storm Sewer Improvement to pay for the installation of such improve- ments: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS= - SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of Bond Funds No. 295 Storm Sewer Improvement Four Thousand Seven Hundred and Nine Dollars (04,709 -00) to pay for the installation of sixty inch (60 ") reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer along Staples Street from Proctor Channel approxi- mately seven hundred and seventy feet (770t) northward and the purchase of eighty feet (801) of sixty inch (60 ") reinforced concrete pipe and the necessary jointing materials, in the City of Corpus Christi according to the specifications described in Section 2 hereof. SECTION 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized and directed to proceed withithe installation of sixty inch (60 ") reinforced concrete pipe storm sewer along Staples Street and Proctor Channel approxi- mately seven hundred and seventy_(7701) Net northward and the purchase of eighty feet (801) of sixty inch (& ") ^reinforced concrete pipe and the necessary jointing materials in accordance with theplans, specifications and documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are incorporated and made a part hereof by reference. The necessity of installing sixty inch (60 ") reinforced concrete pipe stormLsewer along Staples Street from Proctor Channel approximately seven hundred and seventy feet (770') northward and the purchase of eighty feet (80l) of sixty inch (6011) reinforced concrete pipe and the necessary � R jointing materials creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rules that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rules and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED. fASSED•AND`APPROVED, this the 7117�­day of November A. Laying 60" pipe 7701 @ 11.50* Purchasing 60" pipe 80t 010.20 10% Engineering & Contingencies $3,465.00 *includes 816.00 jointing 1128.00 material $4,709-00 $4,709000 1 1 1 certify to the City Council that the money required for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. Bond Funds No. 295 Storm Sewer Improvement Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for any other purpose. Director Corpus Christi, Texas TM „„ TO THE MEMBERS OF THE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen= sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council.
