That the work of construction of the Sherrill Park Improvements performed by C. L. Castor, Contractor, under his contract with the city dated June 14, 1991, as authorized by Ordinance No. 3061, having been performed and completed in accordance with the terms and provisions of the contract, plans and specifications, and the Director of Public Works having inspected the same and certified to the completion of said work in accordance with said plans and specifications, and having recommended the acceptance and payment of same in accordance with such certificate, which recommendation is concurred in by the Park Superintendent, who has inspected the work, the work aforesaid is hereby found to have been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications and said contract, and is here and now accepted and received by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas. SECTION 2, That final payment due under'said contract as set out in the final estimate dated November 19, 1951, prepared by the Director of Public Works in the sum of Four Thousand Five Hundred and Fifty .Six Dollars al and Eighty Three Cents (01,556.83), hl g he , jof 81 65� 02 paid out of Park Improvement Bond Funds o. 2;; in accordance with the Appropriation Ordinance No. 3061, and a copy of such final estimate being attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 3. That the necessity for the completion of said project by such acceptance and final payment promptly and the public importance of such project being in furtherance of the use of park and recreation facilities to the benefit of the public health and safety and general welfare, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after -the date of its passage, IT IS ACCORDINUY PASSED AND APPROVED, this the e.-I day of November, 1951.
