WHEREAS, A. M. Erskine is the owner of the certain 4.23 acres
more or less, being a part of Lot 8, Section "E" of Paisley Subdivision,
Hoffman tract, Nueces County, Texas, which land is suitable for use by the
City as a site for Garbage Disposal; and
WHEREAS, the City is desirous of obtaining such land for such
purpose and negotations have been completed and the owner, A. M. Erskine,
has agreed to sell to the City of Corpus Christi for and in consideration of
the sum of two Thousand Two Hundred Dollars ($2,200.00) cash the following
described tract,-,piece or parcel of land, to -wit.
A 4.23 acre tract of land out of the northeast corner
of Lot 8, Section "E ", Paisley's Subdivision of the
Hoffman Tract as slamyn by map recorded in Volume A.

Said tract of land being more particularly described
ly metes and bounds as follows;
Beginning at a point, the southwest corner of Lot 7
of the F. D. Lyles Subdivision of Lots 1 and 2-in
Section-"E" of the Paisley's Subdivision of the -
Hoffman Trq.ot as shown by map recorded in Volume 1,
Page 58 of the Nap Records of Nueces County, Texas,
for the northwest corner of this tract. Said,-point
being also the northwest corner of said Lot 8,
Section "E ", Paisleyts Subdivision of the Hoffman
Tract;
Thence S 61° - 40' E with the north boundary line
of said Lot 8, Section "E ", a distance of 820.40
feet to the southeast cQr:er of Lot 9 of the said
F. D. 14yles Subdivision for the northeast corner of
this tract;
Thence S 280 - 20, W a distance of 314.36 feet to
a point_for the southeast corner of this Tract;
Thence N 500 - 32t W, a distance of 71..11.15 feet to
a point in the west - boundary line of said Lot 8,
Section "E" for the southwest corner of this tract;

said Lot 8, Section. "E" a distance of 195 feet to the
place_of beginning,
said land to be used by the City of Corpus Christi and its Garbage Depart-
ment for sanitary fill and other municipal purposes.
NOW, THEWORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS.
SECTION 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed,
for and on behalf of the City to purchase the following described land
situated in Nueces County, Texas:
A 4.23 acre tract of land out of the northeast corner
of Lot 8, Section "B", Paisley's Subdivision of the
Hoffman Tract as s4oWn by map recorded in Volume A,
Page 28 of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas.
Said tract of land 'being more particularly described
by metes and bounds as follows:
Beginning at a point, the southwest corner of Lot 7
of the F. D. Lyles Subdivision of Lots 1 and 2-in
Seotion,"E" of the Paisley's Subdivision of the
Hoffman Traot as shown by map recorded in Volume 1,
gage 58 of the Map Records of Nueces County, Texas,
for the northwest corner of this tract. Said.point
being also the northwest corner of said Lot 8,
Section "E ", Paisley's Subdivision of the Hoffman
Tract; .,
Thence S 610 40' E with the north boundary line
of said Lot 80 Section "E ", a distance of 820'.140
feet to the southeast oprner of Lot 9 of the said
F. D. Lyles Subdivision for the northeast corner of
this tract;
Thence S 280 - 20' W a distance of 314.36 feet to
a point for the southeast corner of this Tract;
Thence N 500 - 32' W, a distance of 741.15 feet to
a point in the west boundary line of said Lot 8,
Section "E" for the southwest.,corner of this tract;
Thence N ^Oc - 13' W with the west boundary line of
said Lot 8, Section "E" a distance of 195 feet to
the place of_beginning,
said land to be used by the City of Corpus Christi and its Garbage Depart-
anent for sanitary fill and other municipal purposes.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed
to do all things incident to or requisite to obtaining the title and
possession of said land.
SECTION 3. That the sum of Two Thousand Two Hundred Dollars
($2,200.00) and such additional sums up to Fifty Dollars ($50,00) as may
be incurred as title expense incident to the acquisition of said land are to
be appropriated from No. 260 City of Corpus Christi Garbage Disposal Plant
Construction Fund.
SECTION 4. The necessity for acquiring additional land to be used
by the City of Corpus Christi and its Garbage Department for sanitary fill
and other municipal purposes creates a public emergency and public imperative
necessity requiring the suspension, of the Charter rule that no ordinance or
resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced and that such
ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency and
imperative necessity exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be
suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAIN D.

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council, I, therefore,
hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council,

for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. _260_Garbage Disposal Plant
Construction Fund
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.
