APPROPRIATING $4,984.55 FROM NO. 297 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1951 CONSTRUCTION FUND (STREET IMPROVEMENTS) AND APPROPRIATING $5,232.15 FROM NO. 296 IMPROVE- MENT BONDS 1950 CONSTRUCTION_ FUND (STREET ImpROVE- MENTS — SIDEWALKS) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF PARKING AREA AND SIDEWALKS FOR THE NEW CITY HALL BUILDING AT KINNEY AVENUE BETWEEN EAST AND WEST SH6RELINE BOU[EVARD;•AUrHOkIZING AND DIRECTING TIt CITY­ MANAGER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH C. L. CASTOR, CONTRACTOR, FOR SUCH IMPROVEMENTS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, WHEREAS, Certain improvements have been determined to be desirable in readying the new City Hall for occupancy, and it is necessary to make appropriation out of the proper funds for the payment thereof and to enter into a contract for the construction of said improvements; and WHEREAS, There are sufficient funds unappropriated in No. 297 Improvement Bonds 1951 Construction Fund (Street Improvements) and in No. 296 Improvement Bonds'1950 Construction Fund (Street Improvements — Sidewalks) " to pay for the construction of such improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: x SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 297 Improvement Bonds 1951 Construction Fund (Street Improvements) Four Thousand Nine Hundred and Eighty Four Dollars and Fifty —Five Cents ($4,984.55), ten percent (IOy) of which amount 19 for engineering and contingencies, to pay for the construction of a parking area for the new City Hall building at Kinney Avenue between East and West Shoreline Boulevard in the City of Corpus ,Christi, Texas, according to the terms of the contract described in Section 3 hereof. SECTION 2. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction Fund (Street Improvements — Sidewalks) FIVE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY TWO DOLLARS AND FIFTEEN CENTS ($5,232,15), ten percent (10 %) of which amount is for engineering and contingencies, to p ®q, for the construction of sidewalks for the new City Hail building at Kinney Avenue between East and West Shoreline Boulevard in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, according to the terms of the contract described in Section 3 hereof. 311`-- s SECTION 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi a contract for the agreed contract price for the construction of paving area and sidewalks for the new City Hall building as described in such contract with C. L. Castor, Contractor, in accordance with the plans, specifications, and contract documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all of which are incorporated and made a part hereof by refer- ence, and in accordance with the bid of said C. L. Castor opened on the 27th day of November, 1951 and being most advantageous to the City of Corpus Christi. SECTION 4. That the necessity of paving such parking area and providing sidewalks in connection with the completion of the new City Hall building for occupancy, creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its - introduction and that such - ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from,and after the date of its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
