MAKING A FINDINGS OF FACT WITH RESPECT TO THE APPLICATION
OF. SOUTHWESTERN BELL TELEPHONE COMPANY FOR AN INCREASE IN
ITS RATES FOR EXCHANGE SERVICE IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEAS; AUTHORIZING A SCHEDULE OF RATES APPLICABLE WITHIN THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI FOR EXCHANGE SERVICES; FIXING A DATE FOR
APPLICATION OF SUCH RATES; REQUIRING FILING OF SEMI - ANNUAL FIN-
ANCIAL STATEMENT BY TELEPHONE COMPANY
WHEREAS, The Southwestern Bell Telephone Company on the 25th
day of June, 1951, filed its application with the City Council of the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas, seeking an increase in rates to be
charged by said company for exchange telephone service in said City;
and
WHEREAS, Said application has been duly considered together
with the data presented by the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and
other information available to the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEAS:
SECTION 1. That the increase in rate of income tax, and in
salaries materialls and maintenance
, , expenses have exceeded the amounts
anticipated as set forth by the City Council in Ordinance No. 2983,
adopted on the 30th day of January, 1951.
SECTICN 2. That the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is
hereby authorized to place in effect the following schedule of ex-
change rates, which rates shall apply to all installations at all
points within the area now within the City Limits of the City of
Corpus Christi, and, as well, to all installations at all points
within any territory hereafter annexed by the City of Corpus Christi
from and after the date of annexation, for the respective classes of
services said schedule of rates to be charged by said company for
exchange telephone service being attached hereto and made a part
hereof, reading as follows, to-grit:

SECTION 3• That the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company is,
and it is hereby, authorized to place said schedule of rates in effect
at 12:01 oTClocky'A.M• � us�y174 - _7952., or at such later time as the
company may desire.
SECTION 4. That the Southwestern Bell Telephone CompaiT is
hereby directed and required to file with the Director of Finance of the
.City of Corpus Christi a semi - annual financial statement, one on or be-
_ £ore the first day of August of each calendar year covering the last next
preceding period from January 1st to June 30th, both inclusive, and a
statement on or before the first day of February of each calendar year
covering the last next preceding period from July let to December 31st,
both inclusive. Such financial statement shall show data sufficient in
detail as to the revenues, disbursements, and capital investment of the
Telephone Company for the respective six months period ending June 30th
or December 31st as the case may be, to enable the City to calculate
the effect of the schedule of rates in force during the respective period.
SECTION 5. In accordance with the City Charter of the City
of Corpus Christi, the foregoing ordinance was read the first time and
passed to the second reading on the 7th day of Aug.-, A.D. 1951, by
