CALDWELL, A FEME SOLE, WIDOW OF-E. L. CALDWELL, WHEN AND IN THE EVENT SAID MABEL B.-CALDWELL EXECUTES A DEED TO THE CITY IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR, REGARDING LOT 4, BLOCK 3, FURMAN AD- DITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, COPIES OF WHICH DEEDS ARE ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. • i BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, BE AND HE IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED FOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED TO MRS. MABEL B. CALDWELL, A FEME SOLE AND WIDOW OF E. L, CALDWELL, WHEN AND IN THE EVENT SAID MABEL B. CALDWELL EXECUTES A DEED TO THE CITY IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR, REGARDING LOT 4, BLOCK 3, FURMAN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, COPIES OF WHICH DEEDS ARE ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF. SECTION 2. THE FACT THAT IT IS NECESSARY TO CLEAR TITLE ANDDEFINITELY DEFINE BOUNDARIES ON THE PROPERTY MENTIONED -IN THIS ORDINANCE IN ORDER TO CONFORM TO THE UNIFORM BAYFRONT PLAN CREATES A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND AN IM- PERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRO- DUCED AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH PUBLIC EM- ERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THAT SUCH CHARTER RULE BE SUSPENDED AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS IN- TRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM /AND - 1AFTER ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, THIS THE �b r DAY OF SEPTEMBER, A.D. 1952• ,MAYO THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS TEST: CITY SECRETARY APPROVED AS TO LEGAL FORM: CIT.YOATTORNEY 3�lq f , Corpus Christi, Texas zt& - /6 19s L TO TffE MEMBERS OF TEE CITY COUNCIL Corpus Christi, Texas Gentlemen: For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen- sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore, hereby request,that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of the City Council, Respectfully, ell- MAYOR City of Corpus Christi, Texas The Charter rule was suspended by the following vote: Leslie Wasserman PC Jack DeForrest - Sydney E.
