APPROPRIATING FROM NO. 291 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 19552 CONSTRUCTION
FUND (PARK IMPROVEMENTS AND CONSTRUCTION) THE SUM OF SIX HUNDRED
DOLLARS TO COVER THE COST OF COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION OF CER-
TAIN ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IN THE PEOPLE STREET BAND SHELL, TO -WIT:
CONSTRUCTION OF AUDIO CONSOLE CABINET, A MARINE WINDOW, AND THE
LABOR PERTAINING THERETO, SUCH INSTALLATIONS TO BE MADE ONPURCHASE
ORDER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THERE IS HEREBY APPROPRIATED FROM N0. 291 IMPROVE-
MENT BONDS 1952 CONSTRUCTION FUND (PARK IMPROVEMENTS AND CONSTRUCTION) THE
SUM OF SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS TO COVER THE,COST OF COMPLETING THE INSTALLA-
TION OF CERTAIN ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IN THE PEOPLE STREET BAND SHELL, TO-
WIT: CONSTRUCTION OF AUDIO CONSOLE CABINET, $512.001 INSTALLATION OF MARINE
WINDOW 7" X 14 ", $30.00; AND THE COST OF LABOR INVOLVED THEREIN, $58.00, SUCH
INSTALLATIONS TO BE MADE ON PURCHASE ORDER. `
SECTION 2. THAT THE NECESSITY OF IMMEDIATELY COMPLETING THE INSTALLA-
TION OF NECES•S6RY ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT IN SAID BAND SHELL CREATES AN EMERGENCY
AND AN IMPERATIVE' PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER
RULE THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF
ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE
SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH PUBLIC
EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID
CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS
INTRODUCTION AND TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER
ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, THIS THE -a,,d DAY of

Gentlemen:
For the reasons set forth in the emergency clause of the foregoing
ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exist for the suspen-
sion of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass this
ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting of
the City Council.

for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of No. 291 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1952
CONSTRUCTION FUND (PARK IMPROVEMENTS AND CONSTRUCTION
Fund from which it is proposed to be drawn, and such money is not
appropriated for any other purpose.
