AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR
AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO
EXECUTE A RELEASE OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT IN THE
AMOUNT OF $444.50 AGAINST THAT CERTAIN PROPERTY
FRONTING ON NINETEENTH STREET, DESCRIBED AS
LOTS 1 AND 2, BLOCK K, MONTE VISTA ADDITION TO
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, AND THE ONNER
THEREOF, LUCIO GUZMAN, FOR AND IN CONSIDERATION
OF THE PAYMENT OF SUCH ASSESSMENT, TOGETHER WITH
INTEREST, IN THE AMOUNT OF $506.42, A COPY OF
WHICH RELEASE IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART
HEREOF; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the City Manager for and on behalf of the
City of Corpus Christi be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to
execute a release of special assessment, evidenced by Certificate No. 10,
In the amount of $444.50 against that certain property fronting on Nineteenth
Street, described as Lots 1 and 2, Block K, Monte Vista Addition to the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and the owners thereof, LUCIO GUZMAN, for
and in consideration of the payment of such assessment, together with interest,
In the amount of $506.42; a copy of which release is attached hereto and
made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That, said payment having been made. the necessity
of immediately releasing the same to clear the title to such property creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension
of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally
on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution'shall
be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having
declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the suspen-
sion of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date
of its introduction, and take effect and be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This the day

GENTLEMEN:
FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FORE-
GOING ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE PUBLIC
NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT
NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS IN-
TRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE
SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL. I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT
YOU SUSPEND SAID CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINAL-
LY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUN-
CIL.

INOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That
COUNTY OF NUECES I
WHWMS, Pursuant to.an ordinance adopted on the 25tb day
of January, 1949, ordering the improvement of Nineteenth Street in the
City of Corpus Christi, Texas, and by virtue of ordinance No. 2480 duly
enacted by the City Council on the 1st day of March, 1949, as amended on
the 14th day of February, 1950 by ordinance No. 2708, there was levied
an assessment in the sum of Four Hundred and Forty -Four Dollars and Fifty
Cents ($444.50) against property situated in said City, fronting 52.88
feet on the East side of Nineteenth Street, and described as follows:
All of Lots 1 and 2, Block R, Monte Vista, an
addition to the city of Corpus Christi, Nueces
County, Texas,-as shown by map or plat thereof
of record in the office of the County Clerk of
Nueces County. Texas

and the real and true owner thereof, named as follows: WCIO G TZRAN;
and
WiEREAS, Said special assessment was evidenced by Assess-
ment Certificate No. 10, issued by the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, on
the 7th day of March, 1950; and
WHEREAS. Said special assessment certificate. together
with interest thereon, in the amount of Five Hundred and Six Dollars and
Forty -Two Cents ($506.42), has been fully paid off and satisfied and at
the time of its payment, the City of Corpus Christi was the owner and
holder of said Certificate and of all liens securing its payment:
NON, THEREFORE, The City of Corpus Christi, Tens, a muni-
cipal corporationt acting herein by and through its duly authorised City
Manager, M. B. COUM, for and in consideration of the payment of said
Special assessment together with interest. does hereby RELEASE said property
from all liens securing the payment of said assessment and the owner of
said property from all personal liability created by the issuance of said
certificate and the other proceedings of said City &bore referred to,
and declare said special assessment F'ULU SA71SPIED AND DISCDNGED.
IN WINESS Tiff$ M, This instrument Is executed by the
Proper City officials of the City of Corpus Christi, and the corporate
seal affixed this the day of December, A. D. 1952.
