APPROPRIATING $35,255.00 TO BE PAID AS CONSIDERA-
TION FOR THE PLUMBING NECESSARY IN THE ERECTION
OF THE MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM ON SHORELINE BOULEVARD
IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, OUT OF N0,
296 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1950 CONSTRUCTION FUND
(MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM); AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY MANAGER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH CORPUS
CHRISTI PLUMBING COMPANY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS,
LOW BIDDER, FOR SUCH INSTALLATION; SAID CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS, PLANS, AND SPECIFICATIONS BEING MADE A
PART HEREOF BY REFERENCE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,
WHEREAS, the installation of plumbing in the Municipal
Auditorium has been determined to be necessary; and
WHEREAS, There is needed the sum of $35.255.00 for
the installationof such plumbing; and
WHEREAS, There is available in No. 296 Improvement Bonds,
1950 Construction Fund (Municipal Auditorium) said amount needed for such
installation; and
WHEREAS, Bids have been received, considered, and an award
made for the most advantageous bid to the City of Corpus Christi, and it
is now necessary to make such appropriation and to authorize the execution
of a contract in accordance with said award;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of No.
296 Improvement Bonds, 1950 Construction Fund (Municipal Auditorium) the
sum of $35,255.00, which amount is to be paid according to the terms of the
contract described in Section 2 hereof.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi a contract
for the installation of plumbing necessary in the erection of the Municipal
Auditorium on Shoreline Boulevard in Corpus Christi, Texas. with Corpus Christi
Plumbing Company, which contract has been awarded said Corpus Christi PLUMBING

Company in accordance with plans and specifications and the contract
documents on file in the office of the City Secretary, all incorporated
herein and made a part hereof by reference, and according to the bid of
Corpus Christi Plumbing Company, opened on the 20th day of January, A. D.
1953, said bid being the most advantageous, and lowest, to the City of
Corpus Christi.
SECTION 3. The need to appropriate said amount and to
authorize the.execution of said contract in order to facilitate the
completion of the Municipal Auditorium, said contract being in conjunc-
tion with other contracts on said Municipal Auditorium, creates a public
emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the
Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed and approved
finally on the day it is introduced and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and theMayor,
having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, requesting the
suspension of said Charter rule, and that this ordinance be passed finally
on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.

I certify to the City Council that the money required for
the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated in the
above and foregoing Ordinance is in the treasury of the City of Corpus
Christi to the credit of No. 296 Improvement Bonds 1950 Construction
Fund (Municipal Auditorium) from which it is proposed to be drawn, and
such money is not appropriated for any other purpose,
