AN ORDINANCE
APPROPRIATING $45,192.00 TO BE PAID AS
CONS TION FOR THE INSTALLATION OF THE
HEATING. VENTILATING, AND AIR- CONDITIONING
EQUIPMENT IN THE MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM BUILD-
ING ON SHORELINE BOULEVARD IN THE CITY OF
CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS, OUT OF NO. 296 IN-
PROVEMENT BONDS, 1950 CONSTRUCTION FUND
(MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM); AUTHORIZING AND
DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER FOR APRON BEHALF
OF THE CITY TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT IUTH CORPUS
CHRISTI PLUMBING COMPANY (LOW BIDDER) FOR
SUCH IIuSTAL -ATION IN ACCORDANCE BETH THE PLANS
AND SPECIFICATION AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS VHICH
ARE MADE, A, PART HEREOF BY REFERENCE; AND DECLAR-
ING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, certain improvements have been deemed to be
necessary; and
WEREAS. There is deededihe sum of $45,192.00 for the
installation of the heating, ventilating. and air- conditioning
equipment in the New Municipal Auditorium Building on Shoreline
Boulevard in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas; and
VERFAS, There is available in No. 296 Improvement Bonds.
1950 Construction Fund (Municipal Auditorium) the amount needed for
such installation; and
WHEREAS. Bids have been received. considered.and an award
made for the most advantageous bid to the City of Corpus Christi, and
it is now necessary to make such appropriation and to authorize the
execution of a contract in accordance with said award;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 296
Improvement Bonds, 1950 Construction Fund (Municipal Auditorium) the
sum of $45,192.00, ,loch amount is to be paid according to the terms of
the contract described in ,Section 2 hereof.
SECTION 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute for and on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi a
contract for the installation of the heating. ventilating, and air -
conditioning equipment for the new Municipal Auditorium Building on

Shoreline Boulevard in the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, with
Corpus Christi Plumbing .Company. which contract has been awarded
said Corpus Christi Plumbing Company in accordance with plans and
specifications and the contract documents on file in the office of
the City Secretary, all incorporated herein and made a part hereof
by reference, and according to the bid of said Corpus Christi
Plumbing Company, opened on January 20. 1953, said bid being the
most advantageous and lowest to the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 3. The necessity of making the aforesaid
appropriation and to enter into the said contract, in order to
facilitate the completion of the new Municipal Auditorium, creates
a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the
suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution
shall be passed and approved finally on the day it is introduced
and that such ordinance or redolution shall be read at three
several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having de-
clared such emergency and necessity to exist, requesting the sus-
pension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed
finally on the day it is introduced and take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after its passage. IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO
ORDAINED.

I certify to the City Council that the money required
for the contract, agreement, obligation, or expenditure contemplated
in the above and foregoing Ordinance is in the Treasury of the City
of Corpus Christi to the credit of No, 296 Improvement Bonds 1950
Construction Fund Municipal Auditorium) from Aich it is proposed
to be drawn, and such money is not appropriated for any other pur-
pose.
