AN ORDINANCE��( APPROPRIATING FROM NO. 297 IMPROVEMENT BONDS 1951 CONSTRUCTION FUND (AIRPORT IMPROVEMENTS) THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED SEVENTY —SIX THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED-SEVEN- TY DOLLARS AND FORTY CENTS ($176,570.40) AND ONE THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED FIFTY —FOUR DOLLARS AND NINE- TEEN CENTS ($1,354.19) FROM NO. 245 AIRPORT DRAINAGE AND IMPROVEMENT FUND'FOR THE ACQUISITION OF LANDS, EASEMENTS AND OTHER RIGHTS IN AND CONCERNING LANDS AND OTHER PROPERTY, AND SETTLEMENT OF DAMAGES FOR THE EXPANSION, EXTENSION, ENLARGEMENT AND IMPROVE- MENT OF CLIFF MAUS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT OR SO MUCH THEREOF AS MAY BE NEEDED IN CONNECTION WITH SAID AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROJECT IN COOPERATION WITH THE CAA; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS the plans and specifications prepared by Engineers Associated for the expansion, extension, enlargement and im- provement of Cliff Maus Municipal Airport have been approved by the City and CAA and it is necessary to acquire certain land, property rights, easements and property in connection with said project including the relocation of Old Brownsville Road; and WHEREAS there is on an available of the following funds: No. 297 Improvement Bonds 1951 Construction Fund (Airport Improvements) $176,570.40 No. 245 Airport Drainage and Improvement Fund 1,354.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated from No 297 Improvement Bonds 1951 Construction Fund (Airport Improve- ments) the sum of One Hundred Seventy —Six Thousand Five Hundred Seventy Dollars and Forty Cents ($176570.40) and from No. 245 Airport Drainage and Improvement Fund the sum of One Thousand Three Hundred Fifty —four Dollars and Nineteen Cents ($19354.19) for the acquisition of lands, easements and other rights in and - concerning lands and other property, and settlement of damages for the expansion, extension, enlargement and improvement of Cliff Maus Municipal Airport. SECTION 2. That the necessity of acquiring said land for expansion, extension, enlargementand improvement of Cliff 3q ZI Maus Municipal Airport creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council,and the Mayor, delcaring such emergency and neces- sity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that it take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED This the 3rd day of Febru ry, A.D. 1953.
