HomeMy WebLinkAbout03432 RES - 03/12/1953F 1 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER, CITY SECRETARY, AND CITY ATTORNEY TO PUBLISH A SUPPLE- MENT TO THE 1939 PRINTED EDITION OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, INCORPORATING THE AMENDMENTS ADOPTED SINCE THE ADOPTION OF THE SAID 1939 AMENDMENTS TO THE CITY CHARTER; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, no publication of the 1945 ad subsequent amendments to the City Charter has been made since the adoption of such 1945 amend- ments and copies of such amendment are not available for the information of the public other than the original records thereof, and it is to the interest of the public that such amendments be made available. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That a supplement to the 1939 supplement to the City Charter be compiled and published under the direction of the City Manager, Mayor, City Secretary, and City Attorney and certified by such officials. SECTION 2. That the necessity for making copies of such Charter amendments available to the public at this time creates a public emer- gency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule or requirement that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor. having declared that such public emergency and imperative public necessity exist, and having requested that said Charter rule be suspended and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY SO ORDAINED.
