AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2241 BY A140DING SECTION
100 THEREOF BY MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO PARK A VEHICLE
ON SHORELINE DRIVE, THE SIDEWALK, RIGHT -OF -WAY, OR
PUBLIC PROPERTY ADJACENT THERETO IN ANY MANNER OTHER
THAN IN THE ROADWAY AND PARALLEL TO THE EDGE OF THE
ROADWAY HEADED IN THE LAWFUL DIRECTION OF TRAFFIC;
PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS;
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 2241, Passed and approved by the City
Council of the City of Corpus Christi on the 16th day of March, 1948, and
recorded in Volume 16, Page 197 of the Ordinance and Resolution Records of
the City of Corpus Christi, as amended, is hereby amended by amending Section
100 as follows:
"SECTION 100. Standing or aarking close to curb.
(A) No person shall stand or park a vehicle in a
roadway other than parallel with the edge of the roadway
headed in the direction of lawful traffic movement and
with the right -hand wheels of the vehicle within eighteen
(18) inches of the curb or edge of the roadway except as
otherwise provided in this article.
(B) Upon and along the following streets no person
shall stand or park a vehicle upon such street, street
tight -of -way, sidewalk, or upon any public property adjacent
to and within fifteen feet (15') of
Doc such street in any manner other than in the roadway and
parallel with the curb or edge of the roadway headed in
the direction of lawful traffic movement and with the right -
hand wheels of the vehicle within eighteen (18) inches of
the curb or edge of the roadway:
West Shoreline Drive
East Shoreline Drive
SECTION 4. If any part or parts of this ordinance are for any
reason held to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions of this ordinance.
SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances of the City
of Corpus Christi in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 6. This being an ordinance providing for a penalty in
case of its violation, the same shall be published by publishing its
caption or title stating its purpose and the penalties for violation
thereof as set forth in Section 136, said publication to be once in the
official newspaper of the City; and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its publication.
SECTION 7. That the foregoing ordinance was read for the
