HomeMy WebLinkAbout03784 ORD - 06/23/1954. w IMS:ac:6 /21/54 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING AN ADDITIONAL SUM OF '452.30 OUT OF NO. 297 SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION OF SEWAGE PUMPS AT WEST SIDE LIFT STATION BY FAIRBANKS, MORSE & CO. OF DALLAS, TEXAS; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 3754, passed and approved on the 12th day of May, 1954, there was appropriated the sum of $4,703 out of No. 297 Sanitary Sewer System Bond Improvement Fund for the purchase and installation of sewage pumps at West Side Lift Station by Fairbanks, Morse & Co. of Dallas, Texas; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to appropriate an additional $452.30 to complete said project, and provide for engineering services incidental thereto: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated an addi- tional amount of $452.30 out of No. 297 Sanitary Sewer System Bond Improvement Fund to cover the cost of engineering and contingencies in connection with the project being carried out by Fairbanks, Morse & Co. of Dallas, Texas in connection with the purchase and installa- tion of Sewage pumps at West Side Lift Station. SECTION 2. That the necessity for making an addi- tional appropriation of funds in order that the installation of sewage pumps for the West Side Lift Station may be completed creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordi- nance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and neces- sity to exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its intro- 5'1 '�+ s IMS:ac:6 /22/59 duction and that such ordinance take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, this the -Z- -I day of June, 1954.
