HomeMy WebLinkAbout03800 ORD - 06/23/1954IMS:ac 6/21/54 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED, " AN ORDINANCE TO PROMOTE THE HEALTH CONDITIONS OF THE CITY BY PROVIDING A CODE OF SANITARY REGULATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PLACES, BUSINESS AND PERSONS WHERE IN OR BY WHOM FOODSTUFF OR DRINKS FOR HUMAN BEINGS IS PRODUCED, HANDLED, PREPARED, CARED FOR OR SOLD, AND ALL VEHICLES USED IN CONNECTION WITH ANY SUCH BUSINESS, FOR THE CONDUCT OF HOTELS AND LODGING HOUSES; AND PRESCRIBING THE PUNISERAENT FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE SEVERAL PROVISIONS HCRE- IN CONTAINED; PROVIDING FOR CERTAIN LICENSES AND PERMITS; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; AND DECLAR- ING AN EMERGENCY ", BEING ORDINANCE NO. 820, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 8TH DAY OF FEBRUARY, A. D. 1938. BY ADDING SECTION 23 (a) TO ARTICLE 111 MAKING UNLAWFUL THE MARKETING OF EGGS WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN MADE CLEAN AND FREE OF CHICKEN MANURE FEATHERS OR OTHER UNSANITARY MATERIALS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby added to and made a part of the Health Ordinance, being Ordinance No. 820 of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas, said provisions as hereafter adopted being designated as Article 111, Section 23 (a) of said Health Ordinance and reading as follows: "ARTICLE 111. CODE REGULATING THE HANDLING OF FOODSTUFF. Section 23 (a) Eggs. No person who owns, manages or in charge of any place of business shall expose for sale, sell, offer for sale, or have in his possession for the purpose of offering for sale, any eggs which have not been made clean and free of chicken manure, feathers, or other unsanitary materials, by washing or some other suitable method." SECTION 2. This ordinance shall become effective and be in full force after final passage, adoption and publication as required by law. SECTION 3. That the foregoing ordinance was read for the first i time and passed to its second reading on this the LY day of June, 1954, by the following vote: P. C. Callaway' f. T Ellroy King 7 James S.
