TEXAS:
SECTI0N,1. That the City Manager for and on behalf of the City
of Corpus Christi be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to execute
a @elease of Special Assessment, evidenced by Certificate No. 74, in the
amount of $470.00 against that certain property fronting 100 feet on the
East side of Santa Fe Street, described as being Lots One (1) and Two (2),
Gulf Breeze Annex, an addition to the City of Corpus Christi, Nueces County,
Texas, as shown by map or plat thereof of record in the office of the County
Clerk, Nueces. County, Texas, and the owner thereof, Ben U. Mew, Jr., for
and in consideration of the payment of such assessment in the amount of
.x470.00, plus interest in the amount of $24.99, a copy of which release is
attached hereto and made a part hereof.
SECTION 2. That, said payment having been made, the necessity of
immediately releasing the same to clear the title to such property creates
a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the sus-
pension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed
finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution
shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor,
having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, having requested the
suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect

from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This

COUNTY OF NUECES X
WHEREAS. By virtue of an ordinance of the City of Carpus Christi,
Texas, duly enacted by its City Council on the 4th day of December, 19'51,
there was levied an assessment in the Sam of Four Hundred Seventy r, No /100
($470,00) against property situated in said City, fronting 100 feet On the
East side of Santa Fe Street, and described as follows:
Being Lots One (1) and Two (2), Gulf Breeze Annex,
an addition to the City of Corpus Christi. Nuoces
County, Tesas, as shown by map at plat thereof of
record in the office of the County Clerk. Nueces
County. Texas.
and against the real and true owner thereof, named as follows:
Son G. Now, Jr.; and
WHEREAS. Said Special Assessment was evidenced by such Assessment
Certificate No. 74 issued by the City of Corpus Christi. Texas, an the 10th
day of February, 1953; and
SEAS, The said Assessment Certificate has been fully paid off
and satisfied, and at the time of its payment the City of Corpus Christi
was the owner and holder of said certificate and of all liens securing its
payment:
NOW, THEREFORE. The City of Corpus Christi. Taxes, a municipal
corporation, for and in consideration of the payment of said Special Assess -
ment does hereby RELEASE said property from all liens securing the payment
of said assessment and the owners of said property from all personal
liability created by the issuance of said certificate and the other pro-
ceedings above referred to. and does declare said Special Assessment fully
SATISFIED AND DISCHAMED.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, This instrument is executed by the proper
City officials and the corporate seal affixed this the day of duly,1954.
