HomeMy WebLinkAbout03814 ORD - 07/28/1954AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $25.639.00 OUT OF NO. 141 WATER MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION FUND FOR THE OPERATING COST OF CITY WATER WELLS NOS. 1. 3. 4 AND 5, SAID AMOUNT TO COVER THE PORTION OF THE FISCAL YEAR 1953 -54 DURING WHICH THESE WELLS WILL BE OPERATED; AND DECLARING AN EMEBGENCY- BE TT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $25,639.00 from No. 141 Water Maintenance and Operation Fund, credited to the Reservoir operations, to cover the operating cost of City Water Wells Nos. 1, 3, 4 and 5, for the portion of the fiscal year 1953 -54 during which these wells have been and will be operated. SECTION 2. The necessity for making the above appropriation in order to pay for aperations already conducted and to continue operation of such wells creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such public emergency and imperative public necessity exist, having requested the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed on the date of its introduc- tion and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This the 28th day of duly, 1954.
