APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $16,050.00 FROM N0, 210
MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM BOND CONSTRUCTION FUND, AND
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF STAGE EQUIPMENT FOR
THE MEMORIAL AUDITORIUM FROM TEXAS SCENIC COMPANY
OF THE ITEMS LISTED IN SECTION 10 OF THE BID OF
TEXAS SCENIC COMPANY, OMTITING ITEM 5 IN PARAGRAPH
14; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the sum of $16,050.00
from No. 210 Municipal Auditorium Bond Construction Fund for the purchase of
stage equipment for Memorial Auditorium from Texas Scenic Company. a list of
said equipment to be purchased being listed in the bid of Texas Scenic Company
in Section 10, with the exception of Item 5. which is omitted.
SECTION 2. That the Purchasing Agent is hereby authorized, for and
on behalf of the City of Corpus Christi, to proceed with the purchase of such
stage equipment for the Memorial Auditorium from Texas Scenic Company, consist-
ing of ten (10) sets of rigging and necessary ropes and equipment.
SECTION 3. The fact that it is necessary to purchase stage equip-
ment for the Memorial Auditorium creates a public emergency and an imperative
public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordi-
nance or resolution shell be passed finally on the date of its introduction
and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings
of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such public emergency
and imperative public necessity exist, having requested the suspension of
said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed on the date of its
introduction and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after
Its passage. IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROfIID, This the 28th day of
July, 1954.
