AN ORDINANCE
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT OF CAN-
CELLATION OF GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ACTING BY AND
THROUGH THE ADMINISTRATOR OF CIVIL AERONAUTICS, AGREEING
TO THE CANCELLATION AND TERMINATION OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT
RELATING TO CLIFF MAUS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, PROJECT NO.
9-41-079-202; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS:
SECTION 1. THAT THE CITY MANAGER IS HEREBY AUTHORIZED AND
DIRECTED TO EXECUTE FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI AN
AGREEMENT OF CANCELLATION OF GRANT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI AND THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, ACTING BY AND THROUGH THE ADMIN-
ISTRATOR OF CIVIL AERONAUTICS, AGREEING TO THE CANCELLATION AND TERMINATION
OF THE GRANT AGREEMENT RELATING TO CLIFF MAUS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT, A COPY OF WHICH
AGREEMENT IS ATTACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
SECTION Z. THE FACT THAT THE CANCELLATION OF SAID GRANT AGREE-
MENT IS NECESSARY AND IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI
AND THE UNITED STATES CREATES AN IMPERATIVE PUBLIC NECESSITY REQUIRING
THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTER RULE PROVIDING NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION
SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH ORDI-
NANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE SEVERAL MEETINGS OF THE CITY
COUNCIL, AND THE MAYOR, HAVING DECLARED SUCH EMERGENCY AND NECESSITY TO
EXIST, HAVING REQUESTED THE SUSPENSION OF SAID CHARTER RULE AND THAT THIS
ORDINANCE BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE OF ITS INTRODUCTION AND THAT SUCH
ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT AND BE IN FULL FORCE AND EFFECT FROM AND AFTER
ITS PASSAGE, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, THIS THE kV DAY of
OCTOBER, 1954.

development of Cliff Dtaus Municipal Airport, Corpus Christi, Texas, under a
Grant Agreement betvetn the Administrator of Civil Aeronautics (hereinafter
ca Ued the " Administrator"), acting by and on behalf of the VAitetd States,
and the City of Corpus Christi, fiMS (herainOtewr caUed the "Sponsor "),
accepted by said Sponsor on June 24, 19521 and
iS, in view of existing facts and eireusstances, Sponsor is unwilling
to und+ertaice and carry out the project in accordance with the terms and
conditions of than Grant Agreementl and.
WAS, it has been determined that in the interest of the Sponsor and the
thiited States, said Agreement should be cancelled or otherwise terminated
as hereinafter provided.

Tbat, in consideration of the benefits to accrue to the parties hereto, the
Administrator, an behalf of the United States, on the one part, and the
Sponsor, on the other port, do hereby mutually agree that the Great Agreement
between the United States and the Sponsor, accepted by said Sponsor on June 24,
1952, relating to Cliff Nsus Municipal Airport, Project ID. 9 -41- 079-202, is
hereby cancelled and terminated vithout any liability thereunder by either
party hereto, with the same force and effect as if said Grant Agreement had
not been issued by the Administrator or accepted by the Sponsor.
IS VIUMS WMMWO the parties hereto have hereby caused the cancellation and
termination of said Grant Agreement to be duty executed as of the day
of V 1954.
