HomeMy WebLinkAbout03941 ORD - 11/10/1954AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FROM NO.220 STREET BOND IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $999.30 TO COVER THE COST OF LEVELING MESQUITE STREET AND COOPER ALLEY INTER- SECTION AND SEAL COAT FOR THE REST OF THE STREET AFTER REMOVAL OF RAILROAD TRACKS IN COOPERS AE ,6rur7j IN ACCORDANCE WITH PLANS ON FILE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS; SUCH WORK TO BE DONE BY CITY FORCES; AND DFALARING AN EMERGENCY. . WHEREAS, It is necessary to level Mesquite Street and Cooper Alley intersection and to give the rest of the street a seal coat; and WHEREAS, There is needed for such construction the am of $999.30. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI: SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated out of No. 220 Street Bond Improvement Fund the sum of $999.30 to cover the cost of leveling Mesquite Street end Cooper Alley intersection and seal coat for the rest of the street after removal of railroad tracks in Coopers Alley, all in accordance with the plans on file in the Department of Public Works, SECTION 2. That the Director of Public Works is authorized to proceed with such work, using City Forces. SECTIO14 3• The necessity of making the aforesaid appropriation immediately so as to commence work on said project creates a public emergency and imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no ordinance or resolution aha11 be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that such ordinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared such emer- gency and necessity to exist, and having requested that such Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction, and take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORDINGLY PASSED AND APPROVED, This the day of November, 1954.
