FLICT HEREiiITH; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, The Zoning and Planning Commission has forwarded to
the City Council its reports and recommendations concerning cer-
tain applications for amendment to the Zoning Map of the City of
Corpus Christi, Texas; and
dHEREAS, Public Hearings have been duly held, at which
hearings all persons wishing to appear and be heard were heard,
to consider the same before the City Council of the City of
Corpus Christi, in accordance with proper notice to the Public;
and
MHEREAS, As reflected by the minutes of the meetings of
the City Council on October 20, 19549 November 18, 1954, Novem-
ber 23, 1954, and November 24, 1954, it was decided that to approve
the hereinafter set forth amendments would best serve Public
Health, Necessity and Convenience, and the General Welfare of
the City and its citizens;
NOA, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:

wSECTION 1. THAT THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS
CHRISTI, PASSED ON THE 27TH DAY OF AUGUST, 1937, APPEARING OF RECORD
IN VOLUME 92 PAGES 565 ET SEO OF THE ORDINANCE AHD RESOLUTION RECORDS,
AS AMENDED FROM T114E TO TIRE, AND III PARTICULAR AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE
No. 2266, PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL ON THE 4TH DAY OF MAY,

be changed from "A -2" Second Apartment House District to
"A -4" Tourist Court District, and the same is hereby rezoned.
SECTION 6. That the official zoning map of the City
of Corpus Christi be and the same is hereby amended as here-
in ordained.
SECTION 7. That the Zoning ordinance and map of the
City of Corpus Christi, approved on the 27th day of August,
1937, as amended from time to time and particularly as
amended on the 4th day of May, 1948, except as herein
changed shall remain in full force and effect.
SECTION S. That all ordinances or parts of ordin-
ances in conflict herewith are hereby expressly repealed.
SECTION 9. That the necessity of immediately making
the aforesaid changes for the purpose of maintaining at all
times a comprehensive zoning ordinance for the City of Corpus
Christi creates a public emergency and an imperative public
necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that
no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the
date of its introduction and that such ordinance or resolu-
tion shall be read at three several meetings of the City
Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and
necessity to exist, having requested the suspension of said
Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on
the date of its introduction and that such ordinance take
effect and be in full force and effect from and after its

O� RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED,
AND THAT SUCH OPDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS
IF THE CITY COUNCIL; I, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID
CHAPTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE
IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
