AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING ORDINANCEE 1I0. 2241 ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS, ALLEYS,
AND OTHER THOROUGHFARES IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, AND FIXING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS AND REPEAL-
ING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES AND SECTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH". BY MENDING SUB- PARAGRAPH (A) OF
SECTION 141 OF SAID ORDINANCE NO. 2241 AS AMENDED, BY
ADDING THE FOLLOWING STREETS: CHAPARRAL STREET BETWEEN
TWIGG'L STREET AND PARE AVEIUE, NORTH; MESQUITE STREET
BBTIidEN DAN REID STREET AND LAGUNA STREET, SOUTH; LAGUNA
STREET 3ETNEEN LIPAN STREET AND WATER STREET, EAST]
WILLIAM STREET BET WN 17ATER STREET AMID LIPAN STREET,
WEST; CONTAINING A PENALTY CLAUSE; CONTAINING A CORPOR-
ATION CLAUSE; CONTAINING A SEVERANCE CLAUSE; PROVIDING
FOR PUBLICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXABt
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 2241 passed and approved by the
City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, on the 16th day of March, A.D.
1948, and entitledt
"All ORDINANCE REGULATING TRA:rIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS,
ALLEYS, AVID OTHER THOROUGHFARES IN THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI,
TEXAS, AND FIXING PENALTY FOR VIOLATIONS AND REPEALIIr`G ALL OTHER
ORDINANCES AND SECTIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT BEREWITH ",
as amended, be amended by amending sub- paragraph (a) of Section 1111 so as
to designate the following streets as one -way streets;
"Chaparral Street between Tui co t Street and
Pork Avenue ................ North
Mesquite Street between Dan Reid Street and
Laguna Street ..............South
Laguna Street between Lipan Street and Water Street ... East
William Street between Water Street and Lipan Street- 17est"
SECTION 2. Any person, firm or corporation or others violating any
provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor; and, if oon-
vioted, shall be fined not exceeding two hundred ($200.00) dollars. Every
day that the violation continues shall constitute a separate offense.
SECTION 3. In ease a corporation is the violator of any provision
of this ordinance, the president, vice- president, secretary, manager or any
agent or employee of such corporation shall be also severally liable for the
penalties herein prescribed.
SECTION 4. IF FOR ANY REASON ANY SECTION, PARAGRAPH2
SUBDIVISIONS CLAUSE, PHRASE, OR PROVISION OF THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE
HELD INVALIDS IT SHALL NOT AFFECT ANY VALID PROVISIONS OF THIS OR ANY-
OTHER ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS TO WHICH THESE
RULES AND REGULATIONS RELATE.
SECTION 5. THIS ORDINANCE SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM AND AFTER
FEBRUARY 15, 1955 AFTER ITS PUBLICATION 014E TIME IN THE OFFICIAL
PUBLICATION OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI WHICH PUBLICATION SHALL
CONTAIN THE CAPTION STATING IN SUMMARY THE PURPOSE OF THE ORDINANCE
AND THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF.
