SECTION 1. That the work of Rehabilitation of Gas Mains and
Services in the Hillerest Area performed by Esix Construction Company under
their contract with the City, having been performed and completed in accordance
with the terms and provisions of the contract and the plans and specifications
therein contained, said contract having been catered into on the 28th Day of
JWLy, 1954, as authorized by Ordinance No. 3818, and the Director of Public Works
having inspected the same and certified to the completion of said work in accordance
with said plans and specifications, and said work aforesaid is hereby found to have
been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications and is here new
accepted and received by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi, Texas.
SECTION 2. That final payment due under the contract and as set
out in the final estimate attached hereto and made a part hereog�preepared by the

Seven Hundred Forty- Four/and Twenty -Three Cents ($14i744.23), the -. of a
Director of Public Works, dated December 21
total contract price of $67,160,55, be made from No. 200 Gas System Bond Improve-
ment Fond in accordance with the appropriate ordinance.
SECTION 3. That the necessity for completion of such project by
said acceptance and final payment immediately creates a public emergency and an
imperative public necessity rem,irisg the suspension of the Charter Rate providing
that no ordinance or resolution sha2.1 be passed finally on the date it is introdu'gpd

and that such ordinance or resolution sha1.1 be read at three several meetings
of the City Cquncill and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and
necessity exist, requesting that such Charter Rule be suspended and that this
ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduction and take effect and

ordinance, a public emergency and imperative necessity exLet.for the auspen-
sion of the .Charter Rule or requirement that no ordinanckor resolution ahall
be passed finally on the date it is introduced, and that4moh ordinance or
resolution shall be read at three meetings of the City Council; I, therefore,
hereby request that you suspend said Charter rule or requirement and pass
this ordinance finally on the date it is introduced, or at the present meeting
of the City Council.
