CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. That the work of reworking of Shell Base and
Asphalt Surface Treatment of Thirteen (13) Miles of Streets in Corpus Christi,
Nneces County, Texas, performed by Thomas L. Scott, Inc. under their contract
with the City, having been performed and completed in accordance with the terms
.and provisions of the contract and the plans and specifications therein con-
tained, said contract having been entered into on the 28th day of September,
1954, as authorized by Ordinance No. 3886, and the Director of Public Works
having inspected the same and certified to the completion of said work in accord-
ance with said plans and specifications, and said work aforesaid is hereby found.
to -have been completed in accordance with the plans and specifications and is here
now accepted and received by the City Council of the City of Corpus Christi,, Texas.
SECTION 2: That final payment due under the contract and as set
out in the final estimate attached hereto and made a part thereof, prepared by
the Director of Public Works, dated Debember 15, 1954, in the sum of Twelve
Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty -Two Dollars and Twenty -Three Cents ($72,832.23),
the balance of a total contract price of Seventy -One Thousand Eight Dollars and
Eighty -Nine Cents ($71,008.89), be made from No. 220 Street Bond Improvement Find
in accordance with the appropriate ordinances.
SECTION 3: That the necessity for completion of such project by
said acceptance and final payment immediately creates a public emergency and an
imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule providing
that no ordinance or resolution sha11 be passed finally on the date it is introduced
and that such ardinance or resolution shall be read at three several meetings of
the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared that such emergency and necessity
existp requesting that such Charter Role be suspended and that this ordinance be
