APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $6,000 FROM MEER 102
CURRENT FUND, RECREATION DEPARTMENT FOR EXPENSES
FORMERLY PAID FROM A SEPARATE ACCOUNT MAINTAINED
IN THE STATE NATIONAL BANK BY THE RECREATION
DIVISION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
WMREAS, Certain expenditures in connection with athletic
events and recreation activities have heretofore been paid from an account
maintained in the State National Bank by the Recreation Division; and
WHEREAS, said account has been consolidated with the Current
Fond:
NOW, TBFMFCRE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS:
SECTIM 1. That there is hereby appropriated from Number 102
out of funds not heretofore appropriated
Current Fund /to the Recreation Division of the Park and Recreation Depart-
ment the sum of $61000, said amount being distributed by account as follows:
BG Food Supplies $ 1500
BH Recreational Supplies 200
• CH Special Services ¢300
TOTAL $ 6000
SECTION 2. That the necessity for appropriating funds to pro-
vide for certain expenditures heretofore paid from a separate fund which
has been consolidated with the Current Fund creates a public emergency and
an imperative public necessity, requiring the suspension of the Charter rule
that no ordinance or resolution shall be passed finally on the date of its
introduction, and that said ordinance shell be read at three (3) several
meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor having declared that such
emergency and imperative public necessity exists, and having requested said
Charter rule be suspended, and that this ordinance be passed finally on the
date of its introduction, and that this ordinance take effect and be in full
force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS SO CRDAIINED.
PASSED AND APPROPED, This the ,day of January, 1955.

FOR THE REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE
FOREGOING ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST
FOR THE SUSPENSION OF THE CHARTEP PULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORD NANCE
OR PESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED,
AND THAT SUCH OPDINANCE OR RE50LUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS
OF T4E CITY COUNCIL; I. THEREFORE. HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID
CHAPTER RULE OR REQUIREMCRT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE
IT IS INTRODUCED OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
