BE IT ORDWIND BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF CORPOS.CHBISTI, MUS: -SECTION 1. That there is hereby appropriated the am of ".01 out of Ro. 298 VATERFMUM BOND CONSTRUCTION FORD for legal services to January 6, 1955, by McCall, Parkhurst & Crowe, Attorneys and Counselors, pursuant to a contract dated June 11, 1954, relating to the legal means of accomplishing the financing of facilities necessary to provide the City with an additional source of eater supply as follows Traveling expense - May 6, 1954 thru - Jan. 6, 1955 $529.01 Per Diem (2 days) 400.00 Total .O1 SECTION 2. The necessity for legal services by McCall, Parkhurst & Crowe, Attorneys and Counselors, pursuant to a contract dated June 11, 1954, relating to the legal means of accomplishing the financing of facilities necessary to provide the City with an additional source of vater supply creates a public emergency and an imperative public necessity requiring the suspension of the Charter rule that no Ordinance or Resolution shall be passed-finally on the date of its introduction and that such ordi- nance or resolution shall be read at thref several meetings of the City Council, and the Mayor, having declared such emergency and necessity to exist, requesting the suspension of said Charter rule and that this ordinance be passed finally on the date of its introduct: and take effect and be in frill force and effect from and after its passage, IT IS ACCORD - IRMY PASSED AND APPROVED, This the day of January, 1955. _Zf CITY OF CCHM CHRISTI, ATTEST: :l"'1 n City Secretary MAS TO T•uraT• FORM: w 49 L City Attorney Gf 7 ' CORPU RISTI, TEXAS 1955 TO THE IAEMBER$ OF THE CITY COUNCIL CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS - GENTLEMEN: FORTH REASONS SET FORTH IN THE EMERGENCY CLAUSE OF THE FOREGOING' ORDINANCE, A PUBLIC EMERGENCY AND IMPERATIVE NECESSITY EXIST FOR THE SUSPEN- SION OF THE CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT THAT NO ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE PASSED FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, AND THAT SUCH ORDINANCE OR RESOLUTION SHALL BE READ AT THREE MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL; i, THEREFORE, HEREBY REQUEST THAT YOU SUSPEND SAID-CHARTER RULE OR REQUIREMENT AND PASS THIS ORDINANCE FINALLY ON THE DATE IT IS INTRODUCED, OR AT THE PRESENT MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL.
